A polystyrene sheet, often abbreviated as PS sheet, is a rigid thermoplastic sheet manufactured from polystyrene resin.
Solid polystyrene sheet is generally supplied as GPPS or HIPS. These materials share the same basic polystyrene family but provide different combinations of transparency, toughness, rigidity, thermoforming performance and surface appearance.
Because polystyrene softens when heated, suitable grades can be thermoformed or vacuum formed. Sheets can also be cut, routed, drilled, die-cut, printed, bonded and fabricated into finished products using compatible processing methods.

Polystyrene is widely processed through thermoforming because suitable PS sheets soften when heated and can be shaped over a mold.
