Product Description
HSQY PET GAG Sheet is a transparent, three-layer co-extruded plastic sheet with a PETG/APET/PETG (A/B/A) structure. It combines PETG outer layers with an APET core to provide a balance of transparency, rigidity, toughness and thermoforming performance for food packaging, blister trays, folding boxes, clamshells and other rigid packaging applications.
HSQY Plastic Group supplies GAG sheets in thicknesses from 0.15 mm to 3 mm, roll widths from 110 mm to 1280 mm, and standard cut-sheet sizes including 915 × 1220 mm and 1000 × 2000 mm. Custom dimensions, transparent or colored grades, and roll configurations can be discussed according to customer requirements.
The PETG surfaces help improve forming and converting behavior, while the APET core contributes rigidity and allows material-cost optimization compared with using PETG throughout the entire sheet. This makes GAG suitable for packaging manufacturers seeking a balance between processing performance and material cost.
Whether you manufacture transparent food trays, retail blister packaging, folding boxes or protective packaging components, HSQY can discuss GAG sheet grades and custom specifications for your production equipment and finished-product design.
GAG sheet is a multilayer polyester sheet typically manufactured by co-extruding two PETG surface layers around an APET core. It is also described as a PETG/APET/PETG sheet or G-PET-G sheet.
PETG is glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate, known for useful toughness and converting performance. APET is amorphous polyethylene terephthalate, commonly used in clear rigid packaging because of its transparency and stiffness.
Combining these materials in an A/B/A construction allows the sheet to use PETG where its surface properties are most useful while retaining APET in the central layer. The exact layer ratio can be customized according to processing, mechanical strength and packaging design requirements.
| Layer | Material | Main Function |
|---|---|---|
| Outer Layer A | PETG | Surface toughness, forming behavior and converting performance |
| Core Layer B | APET | Rigidity, dimensional support and material-cost optimization |
| Outer Layer A | PETG | Similar surface performance on the opposite side |
The final performance of a GAG sheet depends on the PETG surface thickness, APET core thickness, raw material grade and production conditions. For thermoforming, folding, printing or bonding applications, the layer structure should be selected according to the intended conversion process.

Clear GAG sheet provides attractive transparency for food packaging, blister packs, transparent boxes and retail displays. Optical appearance depends on sheet thickness, raw material quality, surface finish and processing conditions.
PETG outer layers can improve toughness and surface performance, while the APET core contributes structural support. The final mechanical properties depend on the layer ratio, sheet thickness and forming conditions.
GAG sheets can be evaluated for thermoforming and vacuum forming into trays, blisters and packaging components with complex shapes. Forming temperatures, heating conditions and drying requirements should be confirmed for the selected grade.
The PETG surface layers can provide useful converting characteristics for transparent folding boxes and other packaging applications. Folding, creasing, adhesive bonding and solvent compatibility should be evaluated with production samples.
PET-based GAG sheet offers useful resistance to a range of substances encountered in packaging applications. Compatibility with specific chemicals, inks, cleaning agents or adhesives must be tested under actual use conditions.
Using PETG on the outer surfaces and APET in the core can reduce the PETG content compared with a full PETG sheet. This may offer a favorable balance between processing performance and material cost for suitable packaging applications.
Food Packaging Trays: Suitable GAG grades can be formed into transparent trays and containers for selected food packaging applications. Direct food-contact use requires appropriate material qualification and documentation.
Blister Packaging: GAG sheet can be vacuum formed into rigid blister cavities for consumer goods, accessories, electronic products and retail items.
Transparent Folding Boxes: Clear GAG sheet is useful for packaging converters producing folding cartons and transparent boxes that require attractive appearance and reliable converting performance.
Clamshell Containers: GAG sheet can be considered for hinged-lid packaging and other formed containers where toughness and dimensional stability are required.
Electronic Packaging: The material can be used for selected protective trays, inserts and transparent packaging components. Electrostatic-sensitive applications require separately qualified ESD or anti-static properties.
Decorative and Retail Display Components: GAG sheet can also be evaluated for selected decorative panels, display items and fabricated plastic components where its optical and mechanical characteristics are suitable.

The selected GAG sheet should be heated uniformly using an appropriate processing temperature profile. The recommended forming conditions depend on the material grade, total thickness, PETG layer ratio and thermoforming equipment.
GAG sheet can be formed into trays, packaging cavities and custom shapes with suitable molds. Deep draws, sharp corners and complicated geometries should be evaluated to achieve acceptable wall-thickness distribution and finished-part strength.
For transparent folding boxes, confirm creasing, bending, trimming and adhesive compatibility with the intended production process. PETG surface layers can offer useful converting characteristics, but samples should be evaluated before commercial production.
Drying requirements depend on the selected grade, moisture content, storage conditions and forming equipment. Follow material-specific processing recommendations and confirm operating conditions during production trials.
