Product Description
HSQY 1mm transparent GAG PET sheet is a three-layer co-extruded polyester sheet designed for thermoforming, clear packaging, folding boxes, blister packaging, display components and other applications requiring a balance of clarity, toughness, rigidity and processing performance.
GAG sheet uses a PETG/APET/PETG A/B/A structure. The PETG surface layers provide application-specific forming and fabrication advantages, while the APET core contributes rigidity and helps control material cost compared with a full PETG construction.
HSQY currently supplies GAG sheet in thicknesses from 0.15mm to 3mm, with roll widths from 110mm to 1280mm and standard cut-sheet formats including 915×1220mm and 1000×2000mm. Customized widths, sheet dimensions, colors and packing configurations can be discussed for bulk projects.
For thermoforming projects, buyers should confirm forming depth, mold geometry, heating conditions, sheet thickness tolerance, roll configuration and finished-product requirements before mass production. Sample trials on the actual equipment are recommended for demanding or deep-draw applications.
GAG PET sheet, also called PETG/APET/PETG sheet or G-PET-G sheet, is a co-extruded polyester sheet consisting of PETG outer layers and an APET core.
This construction is designed to combine selected surface and forming characteristics of PETG with the stiffness and cost efficiency of APET. It is commonly considered when standard APET does not provide sufficient forming, bending, bonding or impact performance, but a full PETG sheet is not economically necessary.
GAG is particularly useful for transparent packaging applications in which product visibility, forming quality and post-processing performance are important.
| Layer | Material | Main Function |
|---|---|---|

A 1mm GAG sheet provides greater rigidity than thin packaging gauges while remaining suitable for many thermoforming, folding, display and protective applications.
It can be considered for larger thermoformed parts, rigid folding-box components, transparent protective panels, display products and applications where very thin packaging sheet does not provide sufficient stiffness.
The appropriate thickness should still be determined from the finished part size, cavity depth, load, stiffness requirement and conversion method rather than selecting 1mm solely because it is a standard product.
Transparent GAG PET sheet provides high product visibility for clear packaging, folding boxes, blisters, displays and protective applications. Where optical performance is critical, buyers should specify required light transmission, haze and appearance limits.
The PETG surface layers can make GAG easier to process than standard APET in applications involving deeper draws, sharp corners or more demanding forming geometry.
GAG combines PETG outer layers with an APET core to balance impact performance, surface processability and structural stiffness.
In applications involving tight bends or difficult forming geometry, the PETG surfaces can help reduce cracking or stress whitening compared with a less forgiving material. Actual performance should be validated using the finished design.
Suitable GAG grades can be cut, die-cut, drilled, folded, thermoformed and fabricated into packaging or industrial components. Processing conditions depend on thickness and finished geometry.
GAG can be evaluated for printing and decorative applications. Ink adhesion, surface treatment and printing method should be tested on the actual production sheet before bulk conversion.
The PETG outer layers can provide useful surface characteristics for folding-box fabrication and selected bonding processes. Adhesive or sealing compatibility should be tested using the actual adhesive, equipment and package design.
Polyester sheet provides useful resistance to many substances encountered during normal packaging and display applications. Chemical compatibility should be tested when the sheet will contact concentrated cleaners, solvents or aggressive chemicals.
PETG and APET belong to the polyester material family. This can simplify material compatibility compared with structures combining unrelated polymer families, but actual recyclability still depends on local collection, sorting, additives, labels, inks and recycling infrastructure.
GAG sheet can be used for vacuum-formed and thermoformed parts where transparent appearance, reliable forming and impact performance are required.
Transparent GAG can be evaluated for retail blisters and clamshells, particularly where deeper forming, reduced cracking or improved surface performance is required compared with standard APET.
GAG sheet is suitable for clear folding cartons used for cosmetics, gifts, consumer goods, stationery and retail packaging when transparency and clean folding performance are important.
The material can be used for transparent protective packs and formed inserts for electronics and consumer products where impact resistance and product visibility are required.
GAG can be used for indoor signs, display panels, printed components, POP displays and transparent merchandising elements.
Selected GAG sheet constructions can be evaluated for card and printed-plastic applications where surface quality, toughness and processing stability are required.
Thicker GAG sheets can be considered for clear furniture components, partitions, machine baffles and other fabricated transparent parts when the material properties meet the finished-product requirements.

GAG should not be viewed simply as a replacement for every APET or PETG application. The most suitable material depends on forming complexity, rigidity, impact requirement, surface processing and project cost.
| Item | GAG PET Sheet | APET Sheet | PETG Sheet |
|---|---|---|---|
| Structure | PETG/APET/PETG co-extruded sheet | APET | PETG |
| Clarity | High, grade dependent | High | High |
| Rigidity | Good balance from APET core | Generally high | Application dependent |
| Impact Performance | Typically better than standard APET in demanding forming applications | Good for standard packaging | Typically very good |
| Thermoforming | Suitable for demanding or deeper forming projects | Suitable for conventional forming | Suitable for demanding and deep-draw forming |
| Folding / Bonding | PETG surface can improve processing performance | Suitable, but application testing is important | Generally strong processing performance |
| Cost Position | Typically between APET and full PETG | Usually most economical for standard clear packaging | Usually higher material cost |
| Typical Use | Complex packaging, folding boxes, blisters, clamshells and displays | Standard trays, blisters, folding boxes and packaging | Deep-draw forming, premium displays and demanding fabricated parts |
GAG is worth evaluating when a standard APET package experiences cracking, stress whitening, difficult folding, inadequate bonding or inconsistent forming in deeper or more complex cavities.
If conventional APET already provides acceptable forming performance, clarity and finished-package strength, APET may remain the more economical option.
Full PETG is often selected when maximum thermoforming flexibility, deep-draw capability, impact toughness or fabrication performance is required.
GAG can be a practical alternative when the PETG surface characteristics are beneficial but the application does not require PETG throughout the full sheet thickness. The APET core can provide additional rigidity and improve cost efficiency.
GAG sheet can be processed using conventional thermoforming equipment, but successful production depends on the finished-part geometry, sheet thickness, heating profile, forming method and mold design.
| Parameter | What to Confirm |
|---|---|
| Sheet Thickness | Select according to cavity depth, rigidity and finished-part strength |
| Forming Method | Vacuum, pressure, plug-assist or other equipment configuration |
| Forming Depth | Deep cavities and sharp corners may require greater material stretch and process optimization |
| Heating Profile | Optimize heater settings and sheet temperature for the actual machine and part geometry |
| Pre-Drying | Requirement depends on material moisture, storage and process conditions; confirm before production |
| Mold Design | Draft angles, radii, cooling and cavity geometry influence forming quality |
| Trimming | Confirm die cutting, punching, CNC or other finishing method |
Roll supply is suitable for continuous thermoforming, blister production and high-volume automatic converting lines. Buyers should specify width, core diameter, maximum roll diameter, maximum roll weight and winding requirements.
Cut sheets are suitable for folding boxes, printing, displays, prototypes, sheet-fed thermoforming and fabricated components. Current standard formats include 915×1220mm and 1000×2000mm, with customized dimensions available.
Tell HSQY whether the material will be converted into a blister, clamshell, folding box, tray, display panel, protective cover or another fabricated product.
The current available range is 0.15–3mm. Provide the required stiffness, part dimensions and forming depth when selecting the gauge.
Continuous thermoforming equipment generally uses rolls, while printing, folding and fabrication projects often use cut sheets.
Provide a drawing or finished sample whenever the project involves deep cavities, narrow corners or significant material stretching.
If transparency is important, specify acceptable haze, light transmission, surface defects and color consistency instead of relying only on the word “clear.”
Provide the ink system, adhesive, folding or bonding method so the actual sheet surface can be evaluated before production.
If the sheet will be used for food, medical or another regulated application, request current product-specific documentation for the exact grade rather than assuming every GAG sheet has identical compliance.
| Parameter | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Thickness Tolerance | Affects forming consistency, rigidity and finished-part dimensions |
| Layer Ratio | Influences the balance between PETG surface behavior and APET core properties |
| Roll Width Tolerance | Important for automatic thermoforming and web tracking |

GAG PET sheet is a three-layer co-extruded polyester sheet normally structured as PETG/APET/PETG. The PETG outer layers provide surface and forming benefits, while the APET core provides rigidity and cost efficiency.
No. PETG sheet is generally manufactured from PETG throughout the sheet thickness, while GAG uses PETG outer layers with an APET core.
APET is generally selected for economical transparent packaging and standard thermoforming. GAG adds PETG surface layers and can provide improved forming, folding, bonding and impact performance for more demanding applications.
A 1mm GAG sheet can be used for thermoformed parts, clear folding boxes, protective packaging, displays, transparent panels and fabricated components where greater rigidity is required than thin packaging film.
Yes. GAG is commonly used for thermoforming and vacuum forming. Actual performance depends on thickness, forming depth, heater settings, mold geometry and forming equipment.
GAG can be a better option when APET experiences cracking, stress whitening or insufficient forming performance in deeper or more complex parts. Sample testing should be used to confirm the best material.
GAG is generally positioned as a cost-controlled alternative to full PETG because the center layer is APET. Actual pricing depends on layer ratio, thickness, resin prices, color, dimensions and order volume.
Yes. Transparent GAG sheet can be evaluated for folding-box packaging where clarity, folding performance and bonding are important. The actual crease, folding radius and adhesive system should be tested.
GAG can be printed using compatible printing systems. Ink adhesion and any required surface treatment should be tested using the actual sheet and printing process.
Pre-drying requirements depend on material moisture, storage conditions, thickness and the thermoforming process. Do not assume every GAG grade can always be formed without drying; confirm processing guidance for the supplied grade.
Standard GAG should not automatically be considered a long-term outdoor UV-resistant sheet. If outdoor use is required, specify service life, UV exposure and weathering requirements so an appropriate grade can be evaluated.
GAG uses PET-based polyester layers, but actual recyclability depends on local collection, sorting and recycling systems as well as inks, labels, adhesives and other components in the finished product.
GAG can be manufactured for packaging applications, but food-contact suitability must be confirmed for the exact resin, additives, layer construction, intended food type, temperature and destination market. Request current product-specific documentation before use.
The current HSQY product range lists GAG sheet thicknesses from 0.15mm to 3mm.
