Product Description
HSQY manufactures super-clear 1mm rigid PVC sheet rolls for thermoforming, vacuum forming, blister packaging, clamshells, trays, retail display packaging, medical-device trays and industrial formed components.
The featured product has a nominal thickness of 1mm. Customized PVC sheets are available in thicknesses from approximately 0.15mm to 5mm, subject to the required width, roll format, sheet format and application.
Clear rigid PVC provides useful optical clarity, dimensional stability and forming performance for packaging and industrial conversion. The exact light transmission, haze, tint and surface quality should be confirmed using an approved production sample.
Application-specific formulations are available for general thermoforming, food-contact packaging, medical-device trays, pharmaceutical packaging, printing, folding boxes, antistatic applications and UV-stabilized products.
Food, pharmaceutical and medical applications require dedicated specifications and applicable compliance documents. Virgin resin content alone does not establish suitability for a regulated end use.
For additional materials, view the HSQY transparent PVC blister sheet range, pharmaceutical PVC films and PET thermoforming sheets.

A 1mm rigid PVC thermoforming sheet is a transparent or colored polyvinyl chloride material designed to soften under controlled heating and form over a mold using vacuum, pressure or mechanical assistance.
After forming and cooling, the material retains the molded shape and can be trimmed, punched, printed, welded, sealed or assembled into the finished packaging or component.
At 1mm thickness, the sheet provides greater rigidity and impact protection than thin pharmaceutical blister films and is better suited to deeper trays, large blisters, protective shells and formed industrial parts.
The material is also described as clear hard PVC film, rigid vinyl roll stock, PVC vacuum-forming sheet, transparent blister sheet and PVC thermoforming roll.

Final specifications should identify thickness tolerance, width tolerance, roll length, core diameter, roll weight, outside diameter, winding direction, surface, color, optical quality and application grade.
The term super clear describes a visually transparent grade, but professional purchasing specifications should use measurable optical and defect criteria.
| Optical Item | Why It Matters | Recommended Confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| Light Transmission | Controls product visibility through the formed package | Specify minimum transmission where optical performance is critical |
| Haze | Affects cloudy appearance and fine-detail visibility | Specify maximum haze or approve a visual master sample |
| Tint | PVC may appear neutral, blue-tinted or slightly yellow depending on formulation | Confirm neutral, light-blue or custom tint |
| Gloss | Influences visual brightness and reflection | Confirm polished, semi-gloss, matte or frosted surface |
| Black Spots and Gels | Visible defects reduce packaging appearance | Define defect size, quantity and inspection area |
| Flow Lines and Fish Eyes | Can become more visible after deep forming | Approve samples after forming, not only as flat sheet |
Consistent thickness and formulation help the sheet heat evenly across the forming area and reduce local overstretching.
The forming temperature and heating time depend on the exact PVC formulation, thickness, heater type, machine speed, mold design and ambient conditions.
Controlled sag is important for consistent material distribution. Excessive sag can create uneven walls, while insufficient heating can cause incomplete forming or stress.
Deep cavities and sharp corners may require plug assistance, pressure forming, optimized mold radii and a dedicated high-impact formulation.
Surface slip, mold draft angle, texture and stacking design affect whether formed parts release from the mold and separate smoothly during packing.
The formed sheet should trim cleanly without uncontrolled cracking, excessive burrs or edge whitening.

Standard transparent PVC should not automatically be described as antistatic, permanently UV-resistant or fireproof.
A rigid PVC sheet intended for food packaging must use a formulation suitable for the destination market and the intended food-contact conditions.
The buyer should identify the food type, contact temperature, contact duration, refrigerated or ambient storage and whether the package will contact fatty, acidic, alcoholic or aqueous foods.
Required documents may include a food-contact declaration, migration test report, resin declaration and restricted-substance documentation.
An SGS report should be described according to the exact tests completed and should not be presented as a universal food-safety certification.
Medical-device packaging requires more than clear appearance and thermoformability.
The material and formed tray must be evaluated as part of the complete packaging system, including lidding material, seal strength, package integrity, sterilization method, transportation and shelf life.
Ethylene oxide, gamma, electron-beam and plasma sterilization can affect different PVC formulations differently. Compatibility must be confirmed for the exact grade and dose.
The customer remains responsible for validating the final sterile-barrier and medical-device packaging system.

Before bulk production, HSQY recommends testing the selected PVC sheet on the customer's actual thermoforming machine, mold, trimming system and finished packaging line.
It is used for thermoformed trays, large blister packs, clamshells, clear protective shells, retail packaging, display components and industrial formed parts.
Yes. The featured specification is 1mm, while other thicknesses can be customized.
Yes, subject to the required width, roll diameter, core size, roll weight and winding conditions. Wide or very heavy 1mm products may be more suitable as sheets.
Customized roll widths are available up to approximately 1280mm, subject to the thickness and production equipment.
It refers to a visually high-transparency grade. Precise requirements should be defined by light transmission, haze, tint, gloss and defect limits.
Not necessarily. Transparent PVC may have a neutral, light-blue or slightly warm tint depending on the formulation.
Yes. An appropriate rigid PVC grade can be vacuum formed after heating and process optimization.
It can be used for deeper shapes when the material grade, mold radius, heating profile, plug assistance and draw ratio are suitable.
The correct temperature depends on the formulation, thickness, heater, machine, mold and cycle time. Forming trials should determine the production window.
Some dimensional change can occur during heating and cooling. Longitudinal and transverse shrinkage should be tested for the selected grade.
Yes. Suitable tooling can be used for punching, trimming and die cutting after forming.
Printing grades can support offset, screen, UV and selected digital printing after ink and adhesion testing.
Suitable PVC grades can be joined by high-frequency, thermal or other compatible welding processes after validation.
Standard tablet and capsule blister packs usually use thinner dedicated pharmaceutical films. A 1mm sheet is more commonly selected for thicker trays and protective formed packaging.
Only a dedicated food-contact grade with documents appropriate to the destination market and conditions of use should be selected.
No. The complete formulation, including stabilizers, processing aids, pigments and other additives, must be suitable for the application.
A medical packaging grade may be used after the complete sterile-barrier system, forming, sealing, sterilization and shelf life have been validated.
Standard monolayer PVC should not be treated as a universal high-barrier film. PVDC-coated PVC or PVC/PCTFE structures may be required for sensitive products.
No. Antistatic performance requires a dedicated formulation and a specified surface-resistance range.
Long-term UV performance should not be assumed. Outdoor applications require a UV-stabilized grade and weathering test requirements.
No plastic sheet should be described as completely fireproof. Flame performance must be supported by a test for the exact formulation and thickness.
Yes. Clear, opaque and colored products with glossy, matte, frosted or embossed surfaces can be evaluated.
Existing A4 or cut samples may be available without a material charge, while international courier freight is normally paid by the customer.
The standard MOQ is approximately 1000kg. Special grades, colors and customized widths may require a different quantity.
Standard production generally takes approximately 7-15 days after the specification, sample, packing and deposit are confirmed.
Provide the thickness, width, roll or sheet format, color, surface, forming depth, application, special grade, quantity, packing and destination.
