Product Description
HSQY manufactures embossed matte transparent PVC sheets and rolls for book covers, stationery products, folding boxes, packaging sleeves, decorative panels, lampshades, templates and customized plastic products.
The material combines a transparent or translucent PVC base with a matte, frosted or embossed surface that reduces glare and creates a distinctive visual and tactile finish.
The main thin-gauge product range is approximately 0.05mm to 0.5mm. These specifications can be supplied in rolls or converted into sheets for printing, folding, die cutting, sewing, binding and packaging production.
Thicker customized PVC sheets up to approximately 3mm may be available, subject to the required embossing pattern, width, rigidity, flatness and production method.
Common production widths include 500mm, 720mm, 920mm, 1000mm and 1220mm. Selected wide-roll specifications up to approximately 1828mm can be discussed after confirming the thickness, texture and production line.
Natural transparent, blue-tinted transparent, translucent white, black and customized colored PVC products are available with fine matte, heavy frosted, leather, twill, geometric and application-specific embossed patterns.
The hardness can be adjusted according to the finished product. Thin film may remain flexible even when produced from a rigid or semi-rigid PVC formulation.

Embossed Matte Transparent PVC Sheet
An embossed matte PVC sheet is a polyvinyl chloride film or sheet with a mechanically produced surface pattern, a low-gloss finish or a combination of both.
The embossed surface may imitate leather, fabric, twill, sand, geometric grids, fine lines or another decorative texture.
A matte surface reduces strong reflections, while a deeper embossed structure provides a more visible and tactile pattern.
Because the surface scatters light, embossed transparent PVC normally appears translucent or semi-transparent rather than optically clear.
The final appearance depends on thickness, resin clarity, stabilizer, pigment, surface depth, gloss, viewing distance and lighting conditions.
| Surface Type | Appearance | Typical Applications |
|---|---|---|
| Glossy Transparent | Smooth, reflective and relatively clear | Clear boxes, packaging windows and glossy covers |
| Fine Matte | Low-glare surface with a subtle texture | Book covers, folders, stationery and premium packaging |
| Frosted | Higher haze and stronger visual diffusion | Privacy covers, lampshades, decorative panels and translucent packaging |
| Embossed | Visible repeating pattern with tactile depth | Notebook covers, folders, menus, boxes and decorative products |
| Embossed Matte | Low gloss combined with a decorative surface pattern | Stationery, luxury packaging, covers and branded applications |

Fabric and twill patterns.
Diamond and geometric grids.
Linear and cross-line textures.
Coarse frosted patterns.
Fine decorative dots.

Customer-approved custom texture.
Custom embossing may require a dedicated roller, minimum production quantity and pattern-development charge.
Customers should approve a physical texture sample because photographs and digital screens cannot fully represent gloss, depth, translucency and tactile feel.
Embossed PVC can be printed, but the texture influences ink coverage, dot reproduction, gloss and adhesion.
Deep textures may require more ink or a printing method capable of transferring ink into recessed areas.

Matte PVC Sheet for Selected Card Applications
Embossed PVC is widely used for binder covers, notebook covers, document wallets, menu covers, dividers and reusable stationery products.
Important purchasing parameters include hardness, thickness, fold resistance, odor, color migration, abrasion resistance, printing adhesion and embossing consistency.
Soft or semi-rigid formulations may be selected for sewn covers and flexible pockets, while higher-hardness material is better suited to rigid folders, dividers and flat covers.
For school and office products, customers should also define restricted-substance, odor and skin-contact requirements for the target market.
Thin embossed or matte PVC can be printed, die cut, scored and folded into decorative packaging boxes and sleeves.
Deep embossing may reduce the clarity of the finished package and affect ink coverage, adhesive contact and crease definition.
Folding-box trials should evaluate sheet feeding, static, printing registration, die-cut accuracy, fold whitening, edge cracking, adhesive clarity and box squareness.
Selected embossed PVC grades can be vacuum formed or pressure formed into shallow trays, covers and decorative components.
Heat and stretching may reduce, distort or redistribute the original embossing pattern.
The forming process should evaluate sheet temperature, mold temperature, draw ratio, cavity depth, texture retention, transparency, wall distribution and post-forming shrinkage.
PVC is sensitive to excessive heat, so heating time and temperature should be controlled to reduce yellowing, odor and degradation.
Matte and frosted PVC can provide a decorative light-diffusing effect in selected lampshade and lighting applications.
A suitable lampshade grade should be selected according to light transmission, haze, color, lamp type, distance from the light source and maximum operating temperature.
Flame-retardant requirements must be confirmed using the exact material, thickness, color and test method.
The material should not contact a hot lamp or component unless the complete fixture has been thermally tested.
PVC is commonly used in card production, but card-core sheets, printing sheets, overlay films and decorative embossed sheets are different products.
A deeply embossed surface may not be suitable for printing, lamination, chip installation or precision card punching.
Buyers should specify whether the product is intended as a printable core, overlay, decorative outer layer, playing-card sheet or another card component.
| Grade | Main Function | Required Information |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Indoor Grade | Stationery, packaging and decorative indoor use | Thickness, color, hardness, surface and processing method |
| UV-Stabilized Grade | Improves resistance to selected light-exposure conditions | Exposure period, climate, color change, yellowing and mechanical retention |
| Flame-Retardant Grade | Provides a defined material-level burning performance | Test standard, required classification, thickness and color |
| Anti-Static Grade | Reduces static charge and dust attraction | Surface resistance, humidity, temperature and effective duration |
| Anti-Blocking Grade | Reduces sticking during winding and storage | Roll pressure, storage temperature, surface and release requirement |
| Impact-Modified Grade | Improves resistance to cracking and cold handling | Impact method, test temperature, thickness and acceptance limit |
Optional grades can change transparency, color, hardness, printing, folding and recycling behavior and should be tested separately.
PVC has low water absorption and can resist normal humidity, splashes and many water-based cleaning products.
A finished book cover, box or folder is not automatically waterproof because seams, holes, stitches and openings may allow water entry.
Chemical compatibility depends on the chemical, concentration, temperature, contact time, mechanical stress and PVC formulation.
Customers should test oils, solvents, cleaners, adhesives, inks and other chemicals under actual use conditions.
