Product Description
HSQY natural polypropylene sheet is a lightweight, chemical-resistant PP plastic sheet available in standard sheet formats and custom cut sizes for packaging converters, fabricators, stationery manufacturers, industrial processors and distributors.
The current product-description specification covers approximately 0.2mm to 10mm thicknesses, with standard formats including 3 × 6ft and 4 × 8ft. Custom length, width, thickness, color and converted sizes can be discussed according to the application and order quantity.
Natural polypropylene normally has a milky white, translucent or semi-opaque appearance rather than water-clear transparency. PP homopolymer, copolymer and application-specific formulations have different stiffness, impact and temperature characteristics, so the required resin grade should be confirmed before production.
HSQY can also discuss cutting, printing treatment, welding, thermoforming and functional PP grades for projects requiring food-contact documentation, antistatic properties, conductivity or flame-retardant performance.
Natural Polypropylene Sheet Cut to Size
Natural polypropylene sheet is an extruded thermoplastic sheet manufactured from polypropylene resin without an opaque decorative color requirement. Its normal visual appearance is milky, translucent or semi-transparent depending on resin grade, thickness and surface finish.
PP combines low density, low moisture absorption, chemical resistance and useful fatigue resistance with the ability to be cut, welded, punched, folded, machined and thermoformed using suitable grades and processing conditions.
These characteristics make natural PP sheet useful for fabricated components, packaging, stationery, templates, industrial liners, separators, signs and other applications where corrosion resistance and low material weight are useful.

Natural polypropylene sheet can be manufactured from different PP resin families. PP homopolymer and PP copolymer should not automatically be treated as interchangeable because their rigidity, impact behavior and temperature performance differ.
| Comparison | PP Homopolymer / PP-H | PP Copolymer / PP-C |
|---|---|---|
| Rigidity | Generally selected where higher rigidity and stiffness are priorities | Generally more impact-oriented and flexible depending on copolymer grade |
| Impact Performance | Good under suitable conditions but may be less suitable where low-temperature toughness is critical | Often selected where improved impact resistance is required |
| Chemical Resistance | Strong resistance to many chemicals, subject to chemical concentration and temperature | Strong resistance to many chemicals, subject to grade and service conditions |
| Typical Selection | Rigid fabricated components, liners, packaging, stationery and general industrial applications | Impact-sensitive fabricated parts, lower-temperature applications and products requiring increased toughness |
The supplied source does not identify whether this exact HSQY product is PP-H or PP-C. Buyers requiring a specific resin grade should state the grade in the quotation request and approve the applicable technical data sheet.
Cut-to-size supply helps fabricators and manufacturers reduce in-house cutting time, material handling and scrap. Instead of ordering only full master sheets, buyers can specify finished rectangular dimensions according to their production requirements.
For custom cutting, provide sheet thickness, finished width, finished length, quantity and required dimensional tolerance. If dimensions are critical, specify whether the tolerance must be positive, negative or bilateral.
Saw cutting, routing and other converting methods have different edge quality and dimensional capabilities. Buyers requiring CNC-machined holes, slots, complex shapes or tight tolerances should provide a drawing rather than only overall dimensions.
“Cut to size” does not automatically mean precision CNC tolerance. The acceptable dimensional tolerance depends on sheet thickness, cutting process, part size and finished application.
Industrial buyers should specify tolerance requirements before quotation. For machined parts, a dimensioned CAD or PDF drawing should identify overall dimensions, holes, slots, radii, countersinks and critical tolerances.
Polypropylene is commonly selected for environments involving water, many dilute acids, alkalis and other chemicals because it does not corrode in the same way as many metals.
Chemical compatibility should never be determined from the word “polypropylene” alone. Performance depends on the chemical, concentration, temperature, contact duration, mechanical stress and PP formulation.
For tanks, liners, chemical-processing parts or laboratory equipment, provide the chemical name, concentration, operating temperature and exposure duration so the grade can be reviewed before use.
| Process | Typical Application | Key Consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Saw Cutting | Rectangular blanks and custom panels | Allow for blade kerf, edge quality and required dimensional tolerance |
| CNC Routing | Custom shapes, slots, holes and machine components | Drawing, tooling, tolerance and edge finish |
| Die Cutting | Thin-sheet packaging, dividers, folders and gaskets | Sheet gauge, die design and part geometry |
| Welding | Tanks, trays, liners and fabricated assemblies | Match resin grade, welding rod, joint design and welding conditions |
| Folding / Scoring | Packaging boxes, folders and stationery | Gauge, score depth, bend radius and repeated-flex requirement |
| Thermoforming | Formed packaging and selected industrial parts | Resin grade, heating profile, draw depth and mold design |
Natural and Colored PP Sheet Options
Thin natural PP sheet can be used in converted products where flexibility, moisture resistance and repeated handling are important.
Thin PP sheets can be die cut, scored and folded into packaging boxes, separators and internal packaging components for consumer and industrial products.
PP's moisture resistance and fatigue behavior make thin sheet suitable for document folders, notebook covers, binder components and index dividers.
Polypropylene can be cut into reusable production templates, clothing tags, luggage tags, packaging spacers and lightweight industrial inserts.
Thicker PP sheet can be considered for fabricated panels, liners, machine components, fixtures and chemical-handling parts where chemical resistance, low moisture absorption and weldability are useful.
Industrial selection should be based on actual mechanical load, chemical exposure, operating temperature and attachment method. A general-purpose thin packaging grade should not automatically be substituted for an engineering fabrication grade.
| PP Type | Typical Appearance | Typical Selection |
|---|---|---|
| Natural PP | Milky, translucent or semi-transparent | Industrial fabrication, folders, templates, packaging inserts and general-purpose PP parts |
| White PP | Opaque white | Printing, signs, boxes and applications requiring stronger visual contrast |
| High-Clarity PP | Improved transparency but normally some haze remains | Transparent packaging, retail products and applications requiring improved visibility |
Polypropylene has relatively low surface energy, so untreated PP may provide poor adhesion for some inks, coatings and adhesives.
Where printing is required, corona treatment, flame treatment or an application-specific primer can be evaluated to increase surface energy. Ink compatibility and adhesion should be tested before bulk production.
Provide the printing method, ink type, treatment side and required adhesion test when requesting printing-grade natural PP sheet.
| Optional Grade | Typical Purpose | Information Required |
|---|---|---|
| Food-Contact PP | Food packaging and processing components | Destination market, food type, temperature, contact duration and required documentation |
| Antistatic PP | Electronic packaging and dust-sensitive applications | Required surface-resistance range and test method |
| Conductive PP | Static-control and specialized electrical applications | Electrical-resistance range, thickness and environmental conditions |
| Flame-Retardant PP | Applications with specified flammability requirements | Required standard, rating, test thickness and report |
Standard natural PP should not automatically be described as antistatic, conductive, flame retardant, medical grade or food-contact compliant. These functions require the appropriate formulation and supporting documentation.
Polypropylene is commonly identified with resin identification code #5 and may be recyclable where local collection and processing systems accept rigid PP material.
Actual recyclability depends on the finished product, additives, attached materials, contamination and local infrastructure. The term “eco-friendly” should therefore not be used as a universal environmental performance claim without defining the relevant criteria.

Natural polypropylene usually has a milky white, translucent or semi-transparent appearance. It should not automatically be described as crystal clear.
The current product-description table lists approximately 0.2mm to 10mm. HSQY should confirm availability for the requested dimensions and grade because maximum sheet size can vary by gauge.
Yes. Rectangular cut sizes can be discussed according to thickness, dimensions and quantity. For holes, slots or complex shapes, provide a dimensioned drawing so the appropriate machining method and tolerance can be evaluated.
PP homopolymer generally provides higher rigidity, while PP copolymer can provide improved impact performance depending on grade. Selection should consider temperature, load and impact requirements.
PP resists many chemicals, but compatibility depends on the chemical, concentration, temperature, exposure time and mechanical stress. Provide the actual chemical conditions for critical applications.
Yes. PP can be welded using suitable hot-gas, extrusion or other thermoplastic-welding methods. The welding rod and parent sheet should be compatible, and welding parameters should be matched to the resin grade and joint design.
PP can be routed, drilled and machined using appropriate tooling and processing conditions. For precision parts, provide the drawing, tolerance and quantity for review.
Selected PP grades and gauges can be thermoformed. Formability depends on resin grade, gauge, heating profile, mold geometry and draw ratio, so trials are recommended for new products.
Yes, but PP normally has low surface energy. Corona, flame or primer treatment may be required depending on the ink system and printing process.
Food-contact suitability is grade-specific. Request documentation for the exact formulation, intended food type, contact temperature, duration and destination market rather than assuming all polypropylene sheets are food-contact compliant.
Standard polypropylene should not be assumed to be flame retardant. Specialized formulations can be discussed when a specific fire test, rating and sheet thickness are provided.
Polypropylene is commonly identified as resin code #5 and may be recyclable where appropriate collection and recycling systems exist. Actual recyclability depends on local infrastructure and the finished product.
The current product page lists a minimum order quantity of 500kg. Customized colors, special functional grades or machining may require different minimum quantities.
Sample availability can be discussed for existing specifications. For new industrial projects, samples should be tested under the actual machining, welding, chemical, temperature or forming conditions before bulk approval.
Provide PP grade if known, thickness, sheet dimensions, cut sizes, tolerance, color, surface, processing method, functional requirements, quantity, packaging requirements and destination country.
HSQY supplies natural, clear, white, black, colored, textured and functional polypropylene sheets for packaging converters, fabricators, printers, stationery manufacturers and industrial buyers.
Custom thickness, sheet dimensions, cut sizes, color, surface treatment and application-specific formulations can be discussed according to the finished product.
For industrial fabrication projects, send HSQY a drawing, current material specification or physical sample together with the operating conditions. This helps match the PP grade, thickness and processing method to the finished application.
