A CPET baking tray is a formed food container made from crystallized polyethylene terephthalate. Qualified models can be used for baking or reheating in the package when the tray, recipe and oven cycle have been validated together.
The listed baking range includes nominal capacities of 6, 7, 8, 15, 35 and 40 oz. It covers round molds, rectangular trays and a square tray, with one or two compartments depending on model. Use the model drawing and a filled sample to confirm fit and usable volume.
Yes, when the exact tray and recipe are qualified for direct baking. Trial the intended fill weight, expansion, release and browning on your production line. Check the tray shape and flange after cooling.
Selected models are listed at approximately −40°C to +220°C as a tray temperature reference. Confirm the approved conditions for the model, recipe, fill, oven type and dwell time. Keep the tray clear of exposed heating elements, broilers and open flame.
Use a direct freezer-to-oven cycle once the selected tray, food, starting temperature, closure and heating program have been validated together. Check for cold damage, tray distortion and seal changes during the trial.
Selected models can support validated microwave reheating. Test the filled package with your intended power, time and venting instructions. Recipes high in oil or sugar warrant particular attention to localized heating.
CPET is crystallized for use in higher-temperature applications. APET is commonly used for clear ambient or chilled display packaging. Confirm the approved heating conditions for the tray and separately verify the lid material and use instructions.
Use a closure in the oven only when the complete tray and closure system is qualified for the intended cycle. Fit an after-bake display lid after the product reaches the approved lidding temperature. Follow the selected closure’s removal or venting instructions for reheating.
