Printed Polyester Film
HSQY printable polyester film is a PET film supplied for printing, coating, labeling, packaging and industrial converting applications. It is available in thicknesses from 12μm to 75μm with customized roll widths and clear, white, natural and customized appearance options.
One-sided or both-sided corona treatment can be specified according to the printing, coating or lamination process. Surface treatment improves the wettability of the selected PET surface and helps compatible inks, coatings or adhesives bond more reliably than on an untreated surface.
This film is suitable for professional printers, label converters, flexible-packaging converters, coating companies, laminators, industrial processors and distributors requiring consistent PET rollstock for downstream converting.
Printing performance depends on the actual ink system, printing method, treatment level, treated side, storage conditions and machine settings. Buyers should validate ink adhesion and converting performance using the intended production process before commercial production.

Printable polyester film is a PET-based film prepared for downstream printing, coating or converting. Depending on the selected grade, the film can be supplied with corona treatment on one side or both sides to improve surface wettability and adhesion.
PET film is used as a printing substrate where converters require a thin, dimensionally stable polymer film for labels, graphic components, laminated packaging, industrial marking and specialty converting.
For flexible packaging, printing-grade polyester film may be surface printed or reverse printed depending on the final laminate structure. Reverse printing is typically followed by lamination so the printed layer is protected inside the finished construction.
The correct film should therefore be selected according to the printing method, ink chemistry, printing side, treatment requirement, lamination structure, optical requirements and converting equipment rather than thickness alone.
The following table retains the current HSQY product specifications. Buyers with critical printing or converting requirements should confirm final tolerances and functional parameters on the approved product specification before production.

Untreated polyester surfaces may not provide sufficient wettability for every ink, coating or adhesive system. Surface treatment modifies the film surface so compatible liquids can wet and bond more effectively.
One-side treatment is suitable when only one surface will be printed, coated or bonded. Buyers should clearly specify the treated-side orientation and winding requirement so the correct surface is presented to the converting process.
Both-side treatment can be considered when printing, coating, bonding or lamination operations require improved wettability on both PET surfaces.
For critical printing applications, the purchaser should specify the required surface-energy or dyne level rather than requesting only “corona-treated film.” The required value depends on the actual ink, coating or adhesive system.
Surface treatment can change during storage. Buyers with demanding print-adhesion requirements should define the required treatment level at the agreed inspection point and store the film according to appropriate conditions before converting.
| Selection Factor | Surface Printing | Reverse Printing |
|---|---|---|
| Print Position | Ink remains on the exposed film surface. | Ink is printed on the inner side of the transparent outer film before lamination. |
| Typical Use | Labels, graphics, industrial marking and other suitable exposed-print applications. | Laminated flexible packaging and other constructions where the print is protected within the laminate. |
| Key Requirement | Ink adhesion and required resistance of the exposed printed surface. | Print adhesion plus compatibility between ink, adhesive and the second laminate web. |
| Buyer Should Confirm | Printing method, ink system, treatment level and post-print use. | Printing side, ink system, adhesive chemistry, laminate structure and curing conditions. |
Film suitability should be verified using the actual printing process and ink chemistry. Different gravure, flexographic, screen, UV, digital or specialty printing systems may require different surface characteristics and qualification procedures.
Ink adhesion should be tested using the intended ink, curing or drying conditions, surface treatment and production speed. A generic “printable” designation does not guarantee compatibility with every ink formulation.
Consistent film geometry and web handling are important for printing registration, coating, lamination, slitting and die cutting. Projects sensitive to heat should also define acceptable dimensional change or shrinkage requirements.
Coefficient of friction can influence web feeding, unwinding, rewinding, slitting and packaging-machine performance. High-speed converters should specify a COF requirement when it is critical to machine operation.
Clear, white and natural films may be selected according to the final graphic or packaging appearance. When optical consistency is critical, buyers should specify target haze, gloss, opacity, whiteness or an approved reference sample.
Roll width, roll length or weight, core inside diameter, maximum outside diameter, winding direction and treated-side orientation should match the converter's printing or laminating equipment.
Printable PET film can be evaluated as a substrate for product labels, identification labels, asset tags, decals and other printed applications requiring polyester film.
Printing-grade polyester film can be used as the printable outer web in suitable laminated packaging structures. Sealing and barrier performance depend on the complete laminate and should not be assumed from the PET layer alone.
Selected printable grades can be evaluated for graphic films, point-of-sale components, display materials and other printed visual applications according to the required ink and finishing process.
PET film can serve as a printable substrate for industrial identification, warning graphics, technical labels and selected equipment-marking applications when the chosen grade meets the end-use requirements.
Polyester film is also used as a substrate in selected electronic and industrial converting applications involving printing, coating or lamination. Electrical, optical and functional performance should be specified separately where required.
Printable PET film can be incorporated into selected decorative laminates and printed composite structures when the film, inks, adhesives and adjoining materials are compatible.
