Product Description
HSQY clear polypropylene sheet is a lightweight extruded PP plastic sheet developed for transparent and translucent packaging, printing, stationery, folding boxes, document folders, retail displays, inserts and other converted plastic products.
The current product range is available in approximately 0.2mm to 2mm thicknesses, with standard sheet sizes including 915 × 1830mm and 1220 × 2440mm. Clear, white, black and customized colors can be supplied according to application and production requirements.
Polypropylene normally provides a translucent to high-clarity appearance rather than glass-like optical transparency. Final haze, gloss and visibility depend on resin grade, sheet thickness, surface finish and extrusion conditions. Buyers requiring a specific optical appearance should approve a physical sample before mass production.
Printing-grade, anti-static, conductive and flame-retardant options can be discussed for qualified projects. These properties require specific formulations or surface treatments and should not be assumed to be standard on every clear PP sheet.
Clear High-Clarity Polypropylene Sheet
A clear polypropylene sheet is a solid extruded PP material formulated and processed to provide improved visibility compared with standard natural polypropylene while retaining the lightweight, moisture-resistant, chemical-resistant and fatigue-resistant characteristics associated with PP.
Standard natural polypropylene commonly has a milky or translucent appearance. High-clarity PP grades use suitable resin formulations and controlled processing to reduce haze and improve gloss and product visibility.
Even high-clarity PP should not automatically be described as optically clear like PET, acrylic or polycarbonate. Buyers should specify acceptable haze, gloss, light transmission and visual appearance when transparency is a critical purchasing parameter.

Terms such as natural, clear and high clarity are sometimes used inconsistently in the polypropylene market. Buyers should define the required appearance rather than relying only on a material name.
| PP Appearance | Visual Effect | Typical Applications |
|---|---|---|
| Natural PP | Milky, translucent or semi-transparent appearance | Industrial liners, folders, templates, dividers and packaging inserts |
| Clear PP | Improved visibility and surface gloss but normally retains some haze | Packaging boxes, covers, printed sheets, retail inserts and stationery |
| High-Clarity PP | Reduced haze and improved visibility compared with conventional PP | Premium transparent packaging, printed products and applications where product visibility is important |
| Frosted PP | High haze, soft diffusion and reduced glare | Folders, covers, decorative packaging, dividers and privacy applications |
Polypropylene has relatively low surface energy. Untreated PP can therefore provide insufficient adhesion for some inks, coatings, adhesives and printing processes even when the sheet surface appears smooth.
Printing-grade PP can be supplied or prepared with corona treatment, flame treatment or an application-specific primer to increase surface energy and improve ink wetting and adhesion.
Screen printing is commonly considered for folders, packaging boxes, signs, labels and branded stationery. The ink system should be designed for polypropylene and tested for adhesion, flexibility and abrasion resistance.
Selected treated PP sheets can be evaluated for UV digital printing. Actual performance depends on surface energy, ink chemistry, curing conditions and printer settings.
Suitable PP formulations and surface treatments can be evaluated for other commercial printing systems. Before mass production, test the actual ink, treatment level, curing process, folding operation and finished-product environment.
Corona treatment temporarily increases the surface energy of polypropylene, helping inks, adhesives and coatings wet the sheet surface more effectively.
Treatment effectiveness can reduce over time and can also be affected by storage, contamination and formulation. Buyers requiring printable PP should specify the required printing process, ink system, treatment side and target surface-energy requirement where applicable.
HSQY recommends printing trials before commercial approval rather than relying solely on a general description such as “printable PP.”

Thin PP sheets can be die cut, scored, folded and printed into reusable or semi-rigid boxes for toys, clothing, cosmetics, hardware and promotional products.
Clear or translucent PP can be cut and formed into lightweight inserts, dividers and protective components inside retail or industrial packaging.
Food-packaging projects require a PP formulation with applicable food-contact documentation for the destination market, food type, temperature and contact conditions. Standard industrial clear PP should not automatically be described as food-contact compliant.
Polypropylene's flexibility, moisture resistance and fatigue resistance make thin clear PP sheets useful for stationery products that need repeated handling or folding.
Document folders and file wallets.
Notebook and binding covers.
Index dividers.
Loose-leaf binder components.
Desk-calendar covers.
Reusable document sleeves.
Printed promotional stationery.
Treated PP sheets can be printed for lightweight indoor signs, warning signs, promotional graphics and temporary display panels.
Thin PP can be cut into reusable clothing templates, shoe-sample templates, shirt-support boards and production guides.
Selected clear, translucent or colored PP sheets can be used for decorative inserts, photographic backgrounds, lampshade components and other converted products where PP performance is suitable.
Polypropylene provides useful electrical insulation characteristics for selected separators, gaskets, packaging inserts and protective components. Electrical performance should be confirmed using grade-specific technical data when insulation values are critical.

Usually not in the same optical sense as clear PET, acrylic or polycarbonate. Clear and high-clarity PP provide improved visibility compared with natural PP, but some haze may remain. Final appearance depends on resin, thickness, surface and extrusion conditions.
Natural PP typically has a milky or translucent appearance. Clear or high-clarity PP uses suitable resin formulations and processing conditions to reduce haze and improve product visibility.
The current product specification lists approximately 0.2mm to 2mm. Customized gauges can be discussed according to dimensions, grade, surface and order quantity.
Standard listed sizes include 915 × 1830mm and 1220 × 2440mm. Custom sheet sizes and cut-to-size pieces can also be discussed.
Yes, but polypropylene has low surface energy. Printing-grade sheets may require corona treatment, flame treatment or primer together with an ink formulated for PP. Sample printing tests are recommended before mass production.
Corona treatment increases surface energy, improving the ability of selected inks, adhesives and coatings to wet and adhere to the polypropylene surface.
Yes. Thin PP sheets can be cut, die cut, scored, punched and folded for folders, packaging boxes, covers and dividers. Tooling should be matched to the sheet thickness and finished-product design.
Selected PP grades and gauges can be thermoformed. Forming performance depends on resin grade, sheet thickness, heating profile, mold design and draw ratio, so forming trials are recommended.
Food-packaging applications require a PP grade with applicable food-contact documentation for the intended market and use conditions. Food-contact compliance should be confirmed for the exact formulation rather than assumed for all PP sheets.
Anti-static grades can be discussed for qualified projects. Specify the required surface-resistance range, test method, thickness, color and service conditions.
Yes, specialized flame-retardant formulations can be considered, but standard clear PP is not automatically flame retardant. Provide the required fire standard, rating and sheet thickness so the appropriate grade and test documentation can be confirmed.
Polypropylene is commonly identified as resin code #5 and may be recyclable where local collection and processing systems accept rigid PP products. Actual recycling depends on product design, additives, contamination and local infrastructure.
The current product information lists an MOQ of 1000kg. Special colors, functional grades or customized treatments may require a different minimum quantity.
Sample availability can be discussed for existing specifications. Buyers should test clarity, printing, folding, die cutting, thermoforming and other critical processing conditions before approving mass production.
