Clear Polypropylene Sheet
HSQY supplies frosted clear polypropylene sheet, also called translucent matte PP sheet, for packaging, document covers, folders, dividers, printed panels, reusable inserts and light-diffusing applications. The textured surface softens transmitted light, reduces glare and fingerprints, and partially obscures objects behind the sheet while retaining the lightweight, moisture-resistant and chemical-resistant properties of polypropylene.
Thicknesses from 0.08mm to 3mm are listed for the current product program. Width, sheet size, roll diameter, surface combination, color, corona treatment and functional options can be customized according to the printing, die-cutting, folding, thermoforming or packaging process.
Material: Extruded polypropylene sheet

Main uses: Packaging, folders, dividers, printing, reusable inserts, labels and diffusing panels
Frosted Clear PP Sheet
Translucent Matte PP Sheet
Frosted PP Sheet for Custom Converting
A frosted clear polypropylene sheet is a natural or lightly tinted PP sheet with a matte, embossed or micro-textured surface. The texture scatters reflected and transmitted light, creating a soft translucent appearance rather than glass-like transparency.
The material allows light and general shapes to remain visible but reduces glare and blurs fine details behind the sheet. This makes it useful for packaging and stationery products that need a premium matte appearance, partial privacy, reduced fingerprints or diffused light.
Optical clarification: “Frosted clear” means translucent and light-transmitting, not crystal clear or near-glass transparent. Buyers requiring maximum see-through clarity should evaluate a smooth high-transparent PP grade instead.

1. Soft translucent appearance: The frosted surface diffuses light and obscures fine details without making the sheet fully opaque.
2. Reduced glare and fingerprints: Matte texture helps hide surface marks and improves readability under bright lighting.
3. Lightweight construction: PP has a low specific gravity, helping reduce finished-product and shipping weight.
4. Moisture and chemical resistance: The material absorbs little moisture and resists many diluted acids, alkalis, oils and cleaning chemicals under compatible conditions.
5. Flexible and impact resistant: Thin gauges can bend, score and fold without the brittle fracture associated with some transparent plastics.
6. Repeated-fold capability: Properly designed PP components can form durable living hinges for folders, boxes and reusable closures.
7. Custom processing options: Surface, color, print treatment, antistatic level and roll or sheet dimensions can be matched to the project.
Folders and document covers: Semi-transparent covers, report folders, portfolios, index dividers and stationery products.
Packaging and boxes: Folding cartons, sleeves, reusable boxes, clamshell-style concepts and protective packaging inserts.
Printing and labels: Screen-printed, UV-printed, offset-printed or digitally printed panels when the surface is correctly treated and tested.
Retail and promotional products: Menu covers, reusable display panels, product dividers, tags and point-of-purchase components.
Light diffusion and privacy: Decorative partitions, lamp diffusers and panels where soft light transmission and partial visual screening are required.
Industrial and electronic inserts: Die-cut separators, protective layers and trays made from a grade matched to the required stiffness, cleanliness and static-control level.
For maximum optical clarity rather than a frosted effect, review the high-transparent PP sheet range.
Polypropylene has relatively low surface energy, so ink and adhesive performance should not be assumed. The production specification should define the printing process, ink system, required dyne level and the maximum time between corona treatment and printing.
Printing: Test screen, UV, offset or digital ink on the exact surface and treatment level.
Die cutting: Use sharp tooling and validate edge quality, dimensional recovery and dust generation.
Scoring and folding: Align living-hinge direction, score geometry and resin grade with the required number of opening cycles.
Heat sealing: Confirm sealing temperature, pressure, dwell time and compatibility with the mating web or coating.
Thermoforming: Select a thermoforming grade and validate heating, draw ratio, wall distribution and mold release.
Laser cutting: Mechanical cutting is generally preferred; evaluate fumes, melted edges and fire risk before using a laser process.
A polypropylene material name or a general SGS/RoHS report does not automatically establish food-contact, medical or electronic-packaging suitability. The exact resin, additives, color, surface treatment, production controls and destination-market requirements must be reviewed.
Food contact: Request current migration or declaration documents for the exact grade and intended temperature conditions.
Medical or laboratory use: Define cleanliness, sterilization, biological evaluation and traceability requirements before material approval.
Antistatic use: Standard PP is not automatically antistatic. Specify the required surface-resistance range and the duration of static-control performance.
Outdoor use: Request a UV-stabilized grade and define expected exposure, service life, color change and embrittlement limits.
• Thickness, width and cut-sheet dimensional tolerance
• Haze, light transmission and visual privacy level
• Texture depth, gloss and matte-surface consistency
• Color consistency, gels, black spots, scratches and surface contamination
• Corona-treatment level and aging where printing is required
• Roll winding, edge alignment, core size, roll diameter and joints
• Folding, impact, sealing, forming or static-control performance where specified
Review the available product documents and confirm that each file covers the exact thickness, surface, resin and functional grade being purchased.

It is translucent. Light and general shapes remain visible, but the matte texture scatters light and blurs fine detail. It should not be described as glass-clear PP.
Frosted PP has a matte or textured surface that reduces glare and increases haze. Clear PP uses a smoother surface and formulation intended to maximize contact clarity and visibility.
Yes, these surface combinations can be discussed. Send a texture sample, gloss requirement or haze target so that the correct embossing and process can be evaluated.
Yes, but PP normally requires a compatible ink and sufficient surface treatment. Specify the printing process and required dyne level, and test ink adhesion on the exact production surface.
Yes. Thin PP sheet is widely used for scored folders, boxes and living hinges. Resin grade, hinge orientation, score design and thickness should be validated for the required number of folding cycles.
Suitable PP grades can be thermoformed. The correct grade and thickness depend on mold depth, draw ratio, heating system, wall distribution and finished-part stiffness.
Food-contact suitability depends on the exact resin, additives, color and intended temperature. Request current documentation for the selected HSQY grade and destination market.
No. Standard polypropylene is electrically insulating but is not automatically antistatic. Electronic packaging should specify the required surface-resistance range and whether performance must be temporary or permanent.
Outdoor use requires a UV-stabilized grade and project-specific expectations for exposure, temperature, color retention and service life. Standard PP may embrittle or change appearance after prolonged weathering.
The current product program lists 0.08mm–3mm. Actual availability depends on width, roll or sheet format, surface texture and functional formulation.
Haze and visual privacy can be adjusted through resin selection, color, texture and embossing. Provide a physical sample or numerical optical target for development.
Available stock samples can be supplied for appearance, printing, cutting, folding and forming tests. Freight, sample size and delivery method should be confirmed with HSQY.
