HSQY multiwall polycarbonate sheet is a lightweight hollow PC panel designed for roofing, greenhouses, skylights, canopies, covered walkways, partitions and architectural daylighting. Its internal air chambers combine natural light transmission, thermal insulation, impact resistance and low structural weight.

HSQY supplies twinwall and triple-wall polycarbonate sheets in thicknesses from 4mm to 16mm with a standard width of 2100mm. Clear, green, blue, brown, opal, grey and customized colors are available for greenhouse builders, roofing contractors, building-material distributors and industrial project buyers.

What Is a Multiwall Polycarbonate Sheet?

A multiwall polycarbonate sheet is an extruded hollow plastic panel made from polycarbonate resin. Parallel internal ribs connect two or more outer walls to create enclosed air chambers inside the sheet.

These air chambers reduce heat transfer compared with a single solid plastic layer while keeping the panel relatively lightweight. The internal rib structure also increases rigidity, allowing multiwall PC sheets to be used in roofing, glazing and greenhouse systems.

Thermal Insulation and U-Value

One of the main reasons to choose multiwall polycarbonate instead of solid sheet is the insulating effect of the internal air chambers. Heat must pass through multiple plastic walls and trapped air spaces, reducing thermal transfer compared with a single-layer panel.

Installation Guidelines for Multiwall Polycarbonate Sheet

Install the UV-Protected Side Facing Outdoors

If the sheet has UV protection on only one side, the marked UV-protected surface should face toward the sun. Do not remove the identification film until sheet orientation has been confirmed.

Run the Hollow Channels Along the Roof Slope

Install the internal ribs and hollow channels vertically on walls or in the direction of the roof slope. This helps water and internal condensation drain toward the lower edge of the sheet.

Provide Roof Drainage
