Product Description
HSQY CPET baking trays are thermoformed ovenable food containers designed for bakery products, frozen desserts, cakes, bread, prepared foods and other bake-and-sell or freezer-to-oven packaging applications.
CPET, or crystallized polyethylene terephthalate, provides greater thermal stability than standard amorphous PET packaging. Properly designed CPET trays can support chilled or frozen storage followed by reheating or baking in a microwave or conventional oven.
Selected HSQY CPET tray designs can be evaluated for applications from approximately -40°C to +220°C. The final approved temperature range, baking time and heating instructions must be validated using the actual tray design, food product, fill weight, oven or microwave conditions and any lidding material used.
HSQY currently supplies black and white CPET trays in multiple sizes, shapes and capacities, including representative 300ml, 500ml and 800ml formats. Customized tray dimensions, depths, colors and packaging specifications can be evaluated for qualified bulk bakery and food manufacturing projects.

A CPET baking tray is a rigid thermoformed food container manufactured from crystallized PET. Its controlled crystalline structure provides the thermal stability required for selected high-temperature food packaging applications.
Unlike conventional cold-use PET trays, suitable CPET designs can be used for workflows that include filling, chilling or freezing, baking or reheating and serving from the same container.
This makes CPET particularly useful for commercial bakeries, frozen dessert manufacturers, prepared-food producers, supermarket bakery departments, central kitchens and foodservice companies that want to reduce product transfers between processing, storage and heating stages.

Properly qualified CPET trays can be used for both microwave and conventional-oven applications, allowing bakery and prepared-food producers to develop flexible consumer heating or baking instructions.
Suitable CPET trays can support workflows in which food is filled, chilled or frozen, transported and later baked or reheated in the same container, reducing the need to transfer the product between packaging formats.
CPET's crystalline structure provides greater dimensional stability at elevated temperatures than standard cold-use PET trays. Proper tray design helps maintain useful rigidity during food processing and reheating.
CPET trays can be evaluated for commercial bake-and-sell applications where food is deposited into the container, baked, cooled and distributed without transferring the finished product to another tray.
Black trays provide strong visual contrast with bakery and prepared-food products, while white trays can provide a cleaner or lighter presentation depending on the retail and branding requirement.
Size, depth, shape, capacity, sealing flange and other tray dimensions can be evaluated according to the bakery product, portion size, production line and order volume.
Where a sealed package is required, CPET trays can be paired with compatible lidding films selected according to storage temperature, oven or microwave requirements, peel performance and package integrity targets.
CPET Tray for Bakery and Heat-and-Serve Applications
One of the main advantages of ovenable CPET bakery packaging is the ability to simplify production and distribution by using the same tray at several stages of the product lifecycle.
| Stage | Packaging Consideration |
|---|---|
| Fill | Select tray volume, depth and shape according to dough, batter or prepared-food fill weight |
| Freeze or Chill | Confirm minimum storage temperature, storage duration and stacking conditions |
| Bake or Reheat | Confirm actual oven temperature, heating duration, food composition and tray support conditions |
| Cool | Allow appropriate cooling before further handling, lidding, packing or serving |
| Seal or Lid | Select a compatible film or lid according to display, storage and reheating requirements |
| Sell or Serve | Use one tray for bakery display, takeaway, frozen retail or prepared-food service where appropriate |
Suitable CPET tray designs can be evaluated for cakes, brownies, puddings, dessert portions and other products that are baked directly in the retail or foodservice container.
CPET can be used for selected bread and bakery applications where tray rigidity, oven resistance and direct-to-retail packaging are useful.
Freezer-to-oven CPET packaging can be evaluated for products stored frozen and subsequently baked or reheated without transferring the product to another container.
Black or white ovenable trays can be used for supermarket bakery products where food presentation, efficient handling and optional direct reheating are important.
The same CPET material platform can also support lasagna, pasta, rice dishes, meat entrées and other heat-and-serve ready meals when the selected tray has been qualified for those conditions.
Compact CPET tray formats can also be used for airline and railway catering where prepared meals require efficient storage, transport and reheating.

CPET trays can be supplied as open baking trays or combined with compatible lids and lidding films depending on the packaging application.
For sealed ready meals or bakery products, buyers should specify whether easy-peel, strong-seal, anti-fog, freezer-grade, printed or ovenable film is required.
The lidding film must be selected according to the CPET tray flange, sealing machine, storage conditions and heating instructions. A lid suitable only for refrigerated display should not automatically be assumed to be oven safe.
Specify whether the tray will contain cake batter, brownies, bread, pudding, dessert, pasta, prepared meals or another food. Product composition affects heat transfer, expansion and required tray depth.
Provide both the target volume and actual fill weight. HSQY currently lists representative 300ml, 500ml and 800ml capacities on this product page.
State the actual oven temperature and exposure time. A tray rated for a headline maximum temperature still needs to be validated under the customer's real baking cycle.
If the product will be frozen before baking, provide the minimum storage temperature, storage duration and whether the tray will go directly from frozen storage into the oven.
Rectangular, square and round formats can be evaluated according to bakery presentation, portion size, shelf space and baking equipment.
Tell HSQY whether the product will be sold open, sealed with film or covered with a rigid lid after baking and cooling.
Provide conveyor, filling, sealing, freezing and oven equipment information when tray geometry or automatic-line compatibility is important.
HSQY can evaluate customized CPET trays according to bakery product, food manufacturing process and order volume.

The thermal performance of a CPET tray cannot be determined from material name alone. Tray wall thickness, crystallinity, geometry, food load and heating conditions all influence actual performance.
Selected HSQY CPET trays may be evaluated for approximately -40°C to +220°C applications, but the final tray should always be tested under the customer's real production, storage and heating conditions.
Do not assume that a rigid lid, label, sleeve or lidding film has the same temperature resistance as the CPET base. Every packaging component requires separate verification.
After high-temperature oven use, follow the approved handling instructions for the complete meal package because the tray and food may remain hot even if the CPET container retains its shape.
