Clear printable flexible PVC film is a soft vinyl substrate supplied in rolls or sheets for printing and subsequent fabrication.
Unlike rigid PVC printing sheet, flexible PVC can bend, fold and conform to flexible finished products while retaining a printable surface suitable for compatible ink systems.
Unlike self-adhesive print vinyl, this product page describes the flexible PVC base material itself. Projects requiring pressure-sensitive adhesive, liner or static-cling construction should specify those requirements separately.
| Film Type | Typical Use | Main Purchasing Priority |
|---|---|---|
| Normal Clear PVC | General transparent printed products | Printability, flexibility and cost balance |
| Super Clear PVC | Appearance-sensitive transparent graphics | Clarity, haze and visible surface quality |
| Translucent PVC | Decorative and light-transmitting printed products | Light transmission and printed appearance |
| Colored PVC | Branded and decorative printed products | Base-film color consistency and ink opacity |
| Printing Process | Typical Application | Required Validation |
|---|---|---|
| Screen Printing | Logos, graphics, covers and promotional products | Ink adhesion, drying, flexibility and plasticizer compatibility |
| Digital Printing | Customized and short-run graphics | Printer model, ink system, surface condition and feeding performance |
| UV Printing | Customized graphics and transparent printed products | UV ink adhesion, curing conditions and flexibility after curing |
| Offset Printing | Printed sheets and selected converted components | Film thickness, ink chemistry, drying and dimensional stability |
| Other Printing Systems | Specialized industrial printing | Actual ink, surface treatment and process testing before production |
Different printing processes use different ink chemistries, solvents, curing systems and surface requirements. A PVC film that works with one ink system should not automatically be assumed to provide identical performance with another.
For production approval, buyers should test the selected PVC grade using the actual ink, printing conditions and curing or drying method.
Where a specific adhesion-test method or acceptance level is required, include it in the approved material and printing specification.
Ink wetting and adhesion depend partly on the surface condition of the PVC film.
If the printing system requires a defined surface-energy level, primer, corona treatment or another pretreatment, the requirement should be provided before film production.
The target surface condition should be determined from the actual ink and printing process rather than applying one universal value to every application.
| Surface | Appearance | Printing Consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Smooth | Uniform surface | Stable image reproduction and consistent ink contact |
| Glossy | Bright reflective appearance | Graphic appearance and visible surface quality |
| Matte | Reduced direct reflection | Surface texture, ink compatibility and finished appearance |
HSQY's PVC soft film printing range covers approximately 0.05mm to 1.50mm. The correct gauge depends on printer feeding, web handling, required flexibility and the finished product.
Thin films are useful where low finished weight, flexibility and roll processing are important. Tension control and feeding performance should be tested using the actual production gauge.
Increasing film thickness provides more material body but can change feeding, curing, folding and post-print converting behavior.
When replacing an existing film, provide its thickness, width, softness, surface finish and a printed sample where possible.
Softness influences web handling, finished-product flexibility, folding and post-print fabrication.
Two PVC films with the same nominal thickness can behave differently if their formulations have different plasticizer levels or hardness values.
For repeat production, buyers should provide the target PHR, Shore A hardness or an approved reference sample when precise softness matching is required.
Roll width should match the printer's usable media width and the downstream cutting or converting layout.
For continuous printing lines, roll length, roll weight, core diameter, maximum roll diameter and unwind direction can affect production efficiency and machine compatibility.
Provide these parameters when requesting a quotation for repeat industrial printing programs.
Flexible PVC can be exposed to web tension, heat, curing energy and repeated handling during printing.
Where graphic registration or finished dimensions are critical, buyers should specify acceptable shrinkage, width tolerance and dimensional variation.
Printed samples should be evaluated after curing, conditioning and any subsequent fabrication steps when dimensional accuracy is important.
| Application | Typical Purchasing Priority |
|---|---|
| Transparent Printed Film | Clarity, haze, ink adhesion and surface quality |
| Printed Packaging Components | Printability, flexibility and post-print converting |
| Stationery & Covers | Printing, folding, welding and surface appearance |
| Promotional Graphics | Image quality, roll consistency and finished appearance |
| Decorative Film | Color, surface finish and ink compatibility |
| Industrial Printed Components | Dimensional stability, ink adhesion and converting performance |
| OEM Printed PVC Products | Thickness tolerance, print consistency and repeat-order control |
Printed flexible PVC can be slit, sheeted, die cut, folded, welded, heat sealed, sewn or laminated according to the finished product.
Ink coverage should be considered before welding, sealing or lamination because printed areas can behave differently from unprinted PVC surfaces.
For new products, evaluate the complete production sequence using the actual film, ink and converting equipment before mass production.
| Parameter | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Thickness Tolerance | Supports stable feeding and consistent finished-product performance |
| PHR / Shore A Hardness | Controls flexibility and web-handling behavior |
| Surface Energy / Treatment | Relevant to ink wetting and adhesion |
| Ink Adhesion | Important for graphics during handling and post-print conversion |
| Clarity / Haze | Important for transparent printed products |
| Surface Quality | Directly affects visible print appearance |
| Width Tolerance | Supports stable roll feeding and print registration |
| Roll Length / Weight | Affects machine handling and production changeovers |
| Core ID | Must match printer or unwind equipment |
| Shrinkage | Relevant to registration and dimensional accuracy |
| Blocking | Affects unwinding and roll-to-roll printing |
Standard printable flexible PVC should not automatically be assumed to provide outdoor UV resistance, flame-retardant performance, anti-static performance, chemical resistance or a defined low-temperature rating.
Where a functional property is required, provide the applicable target value, test method and service conditions before the PVC formulation is selected.
Please provide the printing process, such as screen printing, digital printing, offset printing or UV printing.
Provide the printer or press model where available, ink system, curing or drying process and any surface-treatment requirements.
Specify the required film thickness, roll width, roll length or weight, core diameter, softness or hardness, transparency, color and surface finish.
Provide the finished application and any post-print cutting, folding, welding, heat-sealing, sewing or lamination requirements.
Also provide the order quantity, repeat forecast, required technical documents and destination country or port.
Send Printable PVC Film Requirements
Printable flexible PVC film can be supplied in roll format according to the confirmed thickness, width, surface and production specification. Protective roll packaging can be arranged according to roll dimensions, weight, core requirements and export transportation conditions.

Current product information references EN71-3, REACH and non-phthalate related documentation. Buyers should confirm that available documents apply to the exact PVC formulation, thickness, color and destination market.
These documents should not automatically be interpreted as confirmation of a specific ink system, outdoor lifetime, flame classification, food-contact suitability or another application-specific requirement.

HSQY participates in international exhibitions and meets printing converters, PVC processors, packaging manufacturers, distributors, importers and other professional buyers from global markets.
