Product Description
HSQY manufactures transparent frosted PVC sheets for folding boxes, printing, book covers, stationery, packaging windows, retail displays, protective overlays and customized plastic conversion.
The HS-019 product range combines light transmission with a matte or frosted surface that reduces direct reflection, makes fingerprints less visible and creates a softer translucent appearance than polished clear PVC.
Available thicknesses range from approximately 0.06mm to 2mm. Thin specifications are generally supplied as rolls or converted sheets, while thicker specifications can be supplied as flat sheets or cut-to-size panels.
Surface options include one-side frosted, double-side frosted, matte/matte, matte/glossy, velvet/matte, fine frosted, coarse frosted and customized embossed finishes.
Standard products are available in clear or translucent finishes. Transparent colors, opaque colors, customized shades and application-specific printing or forming grades can also be developed according to the required order quantity.
Long-term outdoor use, food contact, medical use, flame-retardant performance, antistatic properties and resistance to specific chemicals require separately approved formulations and supporting documentation.

HS-019 Transparent Frosted PVC Sheet
A frosted PVC transparent sheet is a flexible, semi-rigid or rigid polyvinyl chloride material with a finely textured surface that scatters reflected and transmitted light.
Unlike polished clear PVC, the surface produces a translucent appearance and partially obscures details behind the sheet while still allowing light to pass through.
Depending on the selected finish, the sheet may have a matte texture on one side, both sides or a combination of one matte side and one polished side.
Frosted PVC is also described as matte clear PVC, translucent PVC film, rigid matte vinyl, sanded PVC sheet, frosty clear PVC or textured transparent PVC.

| 1.00-2.00mm | Thicker rigid sheet | Fabricated panels, displays, formed components and framed partitions |
The required stiffness and flexibility also depend on the PVC formulation, plasticizer content, temperature and finished-product design.
Frosted PVC allows light to pass through while reducing direct visibility and reflected glare.
The final appearance depends on surface roughness, thickness, color, haze, viewing distance, lighting direction and the distance between the sheet and the object behind it.
Buyers requiring controlled optical performance should specify light transmission, haze, clarity, gloss and an approved visual sample.
A general frosted surface does not automatically provide complete privacy, calibrated LED diffusion, guaranteed hotspot hiding or certified anti-glare performance.
Frosted PVC can be used for printed packaging, book covers, cards, promotional displays, labels, menus, folders and decorative graphics.
| Printing Method | Typical Products | Required Checks |
|---|---|---|
| UV Offset Printing | Folding boxes, covers, cards and promotional sheets | Ink adhesion, static, UV energy, feeding and folding performance |
| Screen Printing | Signs, book covers, overlays, menus and displays | Ink chemistry, drying, adhesion and abrasion resistance |
| UV Inkjet Printing | Short-run graphics, signs and customized displays | Curing energy, adhesion, flatness and brittleness after printing |
| Digital Printing | Personalized cards, covers and short-run packaging | Printer qualification, primer requirement and heat exposure |
The matte side and polished side may provide different ink adhesion and printed appearance. Both sides should be tested when one-side frosted material is selected.
Semi-rigid frosted PVC can be die cut, scored and folded into translucent packaging boxes for cosmetics, gifts, stationery, electronics, toys, garments and promotional products.
The frosted surface creates a softer appearance than polished clear packaging and can make fingerprints or minor surface marks less visible.
Folding performance depends on sheet thickness, rigidity, orientation, crease-rule dimensions, scoring pressure, ambient temperature and folding speed.
Production trials should evaluate fold whitening, cracking, spring-back, ink cracking, glue adhesion and high-frequency or ultrasonic welding compatibility.
Frosted PVC Sheet for Folding Boxes
Thin frosted PVC sheets are widely used as covers for reports, manuals, catalogs, notebooks, school projects, menus and presentation documents.
The translucent surface partially displays the title page while reducing glare and visible fingerprints.
Common binding-cover thicknesses are generally selected from the thinner portion of the product range according to the required flexibility, stiffness and binding-machine capacity.
A3, A4, A5, Letter, Legal and customized cut sizes can be discussed for finished binding-cover programs.

Frosted PVC Packaging Application
Frosted PVC Decorative Application
A suitable thermoforming-grade frosted PVC sheet can be formed into blister packs, packaging inserts, trays, covers and decorative components.
Forming temperature, heating time, mold temperature, cavity depth, corner radius, cooling and sheet orientation should be optimized for the selected thickness.
Deep forming can stretch or reduce the visible frosted texture in highly drawn areas.
Formed samples should be inspected for wall-thickness distribution, texture retention, transparency, cracking, shrinkage and dimensional stability.
