High Barrier PET/EVOH/PE Lidding Films
High-barrier PET/EVOH/PE lidding film is a multilayer tray-sealing film developed for food packages that require reduced oxygen transmission, secure sealing, and stable performance on modified atmosphere packaging lines. A PET or BOPET outer layer provides mechanical strength, clarity, dimensional stability, and printability. EVOH provides the principal oxygen-barrier function, while the PE-based inner layer seals to a compatible PE sealing surface.

EVOH is an effective oxygen-barrier material, but its barrier performance is sensitive to moisture. For this reason, EVOH is normally protected between moisture-resistant polymer layers rather than used as an exposed surface.
OTR values should always state the test temperature, relative humidity, specimen thickness, and test standard. A value measured in dry laboratory conditions should not be presented as the guaranteed barrier performance of a moist chilled-food package without relevant testing.

Do not compare suppliers using an OTR number alone unless the units and test conditions are identical. Barrier values measured at different humidity or temperature conditions may not be directly comparable.
High-barrier film can support shelf-life objectives, but it does not independently determine the final shelf life.
