PETG Decorative Film
PETG Film for Furniture Panels
PETG Furniture Decorative Surface
PETG decorative film is a copolyester surface film used to create decorative and protective finishes on furniture boards and interior panels. PETG stands for glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate.
In furniture production, the film is normally laminated onto a compatible substrate rather than used as the structural panel itself. Suitable substrates may include MDF, particle board, plywood, wood-based panels and other prepared decorative boards, subject to adhesive and process compatibility.
Different colors, patterns, gloss levels and textures allow manufacturers to produce cabinet fronts, wardrobe panels, doors, wall panels and furniture surfaces with consistent decorative appearance across production batches.
The correct PETG film should be selected according to the required appearance, substrate, adhesive, lamination method, surface-performance requirements and finished application.
The following information is based on the current HSQY HSPDF product specification. Custom colors, patterns, finishes and functional surface requirements should be confirmed before bulk production.

Buyers requiring material declarations, quality-system certificates, chemical test reports or market-specific documentation should identify the required documents and selected PETG grade when requesting a quotation.
Certification and test documentation should be checked against the exact material, decorative finish and ordered specification rather than assumed to apply identically to every pattern or surface treatment.

High-gloss PETG decorative film provides a reflective surface with strong visual depth. It can be used for modern kitchen cabinet doors, wardrobes, furniture fronts and decorative interior panels.
Matte PETG creates a lower-reflection appearance suitable for contemporary furniture, wardrobes, doors and interior surfaces where a softer visual finish is preferred.
Embossing adds physical texture to the decorative surface. Texture can be combined with wood, stone or solid-color designs to create additional visual and tactile depth.
Wood grain designs reproduce timber-inspired decorative effects for cabinet doors, wardrobes, furniture fronts, interior doors and wall panels.
Stone and marble-inspired designs provide decorative alternatives for furniture, cabinets and wall panels where a mineral or stone-look surface is required.
Solid colors and customized designs can be discussed for furniture collections and OEM projects. Provide a physical sample, color reference or design file when accurate matching is required.
Decorative film helps furniture manufacturers reproduce consistent colors, patterns and finishes across larger production batches, supporting coordinated furniture collections and repeat orders.
High-gloss, matte, embossed, wood-grain, stone-grain and solid-color options allow manufacturers to create different product families using similar panel-production processes.
PETG forms the exposed decorative layer of the finished laminated panel. Selected grades can be specified for particular scratch, stain, chemical or wear-performance requirements.
Smooth decorative PETG surfaces are generally easy to wipe and maintain. Cleaning-agent compatibility should be tested when the finished panel will be exposed to specific detergents, disinfectants or household chemicals.
If the finished furniture requires defined anti-fingerprint, scratch, stain, chemical, UV, abrasion or other functional performance, include the required test method and acceptance criteria when requesting samples.
Adhesion and finished appearance depend on the complete panel system. Board flatness, surface quality, moisture content, primer, adhesive and lamination parameters can all affect performance.
| Substrate | Typical Use | Processing Consideration |
|---|---|---|
| MDF | Cabinet doors, wardrobes, furniture fronts and decorative panels | Confirm board preparation, adhesive, temperature, pressure and line speed. |
| Particle Board | Furniture and cabinet components | Surface flatness and adhesive compatibility should be evaluated. |
| Plywood | Furniture and interior decorative panels | Surface quality and bonding system should be tested before production. |
| Wood Panels | Doors, wall panels and furniture surfaces | Confirm coating, primer and adhesive compatibility. |
| HPL / Laminated Board | Selected decorative resurfacing projects | Compatibility depends on the existing surface treatment and bonding system. |
Flat lamination is commonly used for applying decorative film to MDF and other furniture boards. Film, adhesive and substrate are combined under controlled temperature and pressure to create a uniform panel surface.
PUR hot-melt systems are commonly used in furniture panel production, but adhesive selection should be validated according to the PETG film grade, board surface, production line and required finished-panel performance.
PETG has useful forming characteristics, but decorative coatings, textures and film thickness can affect processing behavior. Projects requiring three-dimensional forming should provide mold geometry, draw depth and temperature conditions for grade evaluation.
Where decorative film is required for profiles, frames or shaped components, the film grade, substrate geometry, adhesive system and wrapping equipment should be evaluated together before production.
