Heat Resistant Polypropylene Sheet
HSQY heat resistant polypropylene sheet is designed for cooling tower fill, water-treatment equipment and industrial applications exposed to elevated temperatures, moisture and chemical environments. The PP material combines thermal stability, chemical resistance, low moisture absorption and lightweight construction for further forming and fabrication.
The current reference thickness range is 0.125 mm to 3 mm, with customized widths and colors available. Selected formulations use a reference temperature range of -30°C to 130°C (-22°F to 266°F). Actual service temperature should be confirmed according to exposure duration, mechanical load, circulating-water temperature, chemical treatment and finished-part design.

| Supply Format | Sheet or roll according to thickness and project requirements |
| Processing | Thermoforming, cutting and fabrication subject to selected grade |
| Primary Application | Cooling tower fill, water-treatment equipment and industrial components |
| Other Applications | Scrubbers, environmental systems, chemical equipment, exhaust treatment and fabricated industrial parts |
Temperature Note: The 130°C value is a reference upper temperature for selected formulations and should not automatically be interpreted as a continuous operating temperature under every condition. Continuous service capability depends on exposure time, mechanical stress, chemical contact, sheet thickness and the finished component design.
Cooling tower fill operates continuously in a wet environment and may be exposed to elevated circulating-water temperatures, water-treatment chemicals and repeated thermal cycles. The raw material therefore needs an appropriate balance of thermal stability, chemical compatibility, moisture resistance, mechanical strength and formability.
Polypropylene is used in selected cooling tower fill and water-treatment applications because of its low density, low moisture absorption and resistance to many acids, alkalis and aqueous chemicals. Heat-resistant PP formulations can provide additional thermal stability for projects operating above the conditions normally specified for general-purpose PP.
Heat resistance: Selected formulations provide improved performance during elevated-temperature exposure.
Chemical resistance: PP resists many acids, alkalis and aqueous treatment chemicals, subject to concentration and temperature.
Very low moisture absorption: Suitable for continuously wet and humid industrial environments.
Low weight: PP offers a relatively low-density material for fill-sheet and fabricated-component applications.
Formability: Thin PP sheet can be processed into profiles and formed components using suitable tooling and processing conditions.
Impact resistance: Suitable grades provide useful toughness for handling, converting and service environments.
Custom dimensions: Thickness and width can be matched to converting and project requirements.
HSQY supplies heat resistant PP sheet as raw material for converters and cooling tower component manufacturers. Depending on the project, suitable thin-gauge PP sheet can be thermoformed or fabricated into fill sheets and other water-treatment components.
The performance of a finished cooling tower fill pack is not determined by the raw PP sheet alone. Fill profile geometry, formed thickness, sheet spacing, surface structure, water distribution, airflow, support design, water quality and operating temperature all influence the thermal and mechanical performance of the finished system.
| Cooling Tower Requirement | Information to Confirm |
|---|---|
| Circulating Water Temperature | Normal operating temperature and maximum short-term temperature |
| Water Chemistry | pH, treatment chemicals, concentration and possible contaminants |
| Sheet Thickness | Starting gauge and, where applicable, required thickness after forming |
| Forming Profile | Flute geometry, forming depth and finished-part dimensions |
| Mechanical Requirement | Support spacing, load, handling requirement and dimensional stability |
| Project Standard | Required industry, material, flame or cooling-tower standards and supporting documents |
For cooling tower projects, maximum material temperature and continuous service temperature should be treated separately. A sheet may tolerate a higher temperature for a short period but show greater creep or dimensional change when the same temperature is applied continuously under mechanical load.
When selecting heat resistant PP sheet, provide the normal circulating-water temperature, maximum temperature, exposure duration and expected mechanical load. This allows the material grade to be evaluated according to the actual operating environment rather than selecting it only by a nominal maximum temperature.
Polypropylene provides useful resistance to many acids, alkalis and aqueous chemicals, making it suitable for many water-treatment and environmental applications. However, chemical resistance can change significantly when chemical concentration and operating temperature increase.
For cooling tower fill projects involving corrosion inhibitors, biocides, oxidizing treatments, process contaminants or unusual pH conditions, buyers should provide the chemical name, concentration, water temperature and exposure conditions before final material selection.
Improved thermal stability: Designed for applications exposed to elevated temperatures and repeated thermal cycles.
Good chemical resistance: Suitable for many acid, alkali and water-treatment environments after application-specific compatibility confirmation.
Very low moisture absorption: PP absorbs very little water and is well suited to wet industrial environments.
Lightweight: Low material density can help reduce the weight of converted components.
Good processability: Suitable grades can be cut, thermoformed and fabricated according to project requirements.
Impact resistance: Provides useful toughness during converting, handling and installation.
Custom production: Thickness, width, color and supply format can be discussed for bulk B2B projects.
Although this grade is primarily positioned for cooling tower fill and water-treatment projects, heat resistant PP sheet can also be evaluated for industrial applications requiring a combination of elevated-temperature performance and chemical resistance.
| Industry | Typical Applications |

Heat resistant polypropylene sheet is PP material selected or formulated to retain useful mechanical and dimensional properties during elevated-temperature exposure better than a general-purpose formulation. The exact performance depends on the resin grade, additives, thickness and service conditions.
Yes. Suitable polypropylene grades can be used for selected cooling tower fill and related water-treatment components. The material should be selected according to circulating-water temperature, chemical treatment, forming profile, thickness and mechanical requirements.
The current product information lists a reference temperature range of -30°C to 130°C (-22°F to 266°F). The upper value should not automatically be treated as a continuous-use temperature. Continuous performance must be evaluated according to duration, load, chemical environment and the exact PP formulation.
The current reference thickness range is 0.125 mm to 3 mm. Availability depends on required width, supply format, formulation and order quantity.
Polypropylene resists many acids, alkalis and aqueous chemicals. However, chemical compatibility depends on chemical type, concentration, operating temperature and exposure duration. Cooling tower water-treatment chemicals should therefore be evaluated under actual operating conditions.
Polypropylene has very low moisture absorption, which makes it useful in continuously wet and humid environments such as water-treatment and cooling applications.
Suitable thin PP sheet can be thermoformed into profiles when the material grade, heating conditions, sheet orientation, forming depth and cooling process are properly controlled. Buyers should provide the target profile and required finished thickness for evaluation.
Not necessarily. A maximum or reference temperature is different from a continuous service temperature. Long-term operation must consider mechanical load, exposure time, chemical contact, thermal cycling and the dimensional requirements of the finished part.
If CTI STD-136 compliance is required for your cooling tower project, please include that requirement in your inquiry. The applicable material grade and supporting test documentation should be confirmed for the exact specification before ordering.
Please provide the application, required thickness, width or sheet dimensions, normal and maximum operating temperatures, water chemistry, forming requirements, applicable standards, order quantity and destination.
