Product Description
HSQY PVC/PE Laminated Thermoforming Film is a multilayer rigid packaging material combining a thermoformable PVC structural layer with a polyethylene sealing layer. It is designed for suppository packaging, pharmaceutical unit-dose packaging, selected medical packaging and qualified food-packaging applications.
The rigid PVC layer provides dimensional stability, mechanical strength and thermoforming performance, while the PE layer provides a heat-sealable contact surface, additional flexibility and moisture resistance.
PVC/PE laminate can be processed on compatible thermoform-fill-seal equipment to form individual cavities, fill the packaged product and create a sealed package. Peelable structures can be evaluated when easy opening is required, while stronger sealing structures can be selected for applications requiring higher package integrity.
HSQY also supplies higher-barrier laminate structures including PVC/EVOH/PE and PVC/PVDC/PE for applications requiring lower oxygen or moisture transmission than standard PVC/PE.

Request Current PVC/PE Technical Specifications
The existing downloadable file is retained below for reference. For qualification of PVC/PE laminated film, professional buyers should request the current PVC/PE-specific technical data sheet, layer construction, seal data and applicable barrier information.
PVC/PE laminated film is a multilayer thermoforming material consisting of a rigid polyvinyl chloride layer laminated with a polyethylene layer.
The PVC layer provides the structural body and forming characteristics, while the PE layer provides sealing functionality and an additional contact surface for applications where PE properties are preferred.
The material is commonly supplied in rolls for thermoform-fill-seal systems used to produce suppository cavities, pharmaceutical unit-dose packs and other formed packages.
Rigid PVC is heated and formed into defined packaging cavities. The correct PVC thickness depends on cavity depth, dimensions, line speed and the mechanical requirements of the finished pack.
The polyethylene layer supports heat-sealing performance and can be formulated for peelable opening or stronger closure characteristics depending on the package design.
For suppositories, liquid medicines, semi-liquid formulations or medical-related products, the complete laminate should be evaluated for product compatibility, sealing performance and applicable packaging requirements before commercial qualification.
Rigid PVC provides good forming performance for defined cavities and packaging geometries when heating and forming conditions are correctly matched to the material thickness.
The PE surface can provide reliable sealing when paired with the appropriate mating surface and controlled sealing temperature, pressure and dwell time.
Selected PVC/PE structures can be designed for peel-open packaging, making them useful for suppositories and other unit-dose products where convenient opening is important.
The PE layer contributes moisture resistance. For products with defined moisture-sensitivity requirements, buyers should request measured WVTR data for the exact laminate.
The rigid PVC layer provides structural support during forming, filling, sealing, cutting, packing and transportation.
For products requiring substantially higher oxygen or moisture protection, PVC/EVOH/PE or PVC/PVDC/PE structures can be evaluated instead of standard PVC/PE.
PVC/PE is widely used for thermoformed suppository packaging where formability, heat sealing and peel-open functionality must work together in one packaging structure.
PVC/PE laminate can be evaluated for suitable liquid or semi-liquid pharmaceutical unit-dose packs produced on thermoform-fill-seal machinery.
Selected structures can be used for healthcare and over-the-counter packaging after confirming product compatibility, barrier requirements and destination-market documentation.
Suitable PVC/PE formulations can also be evaluated for thermoformed meat, poultry, fish, cheese, pasta and other food-packaging applications when food-contact requirements have been confirmed for the exact production structure.

| Selection Factor | PVC/PE | PVC/EVOH/PE | PVC/PVDC/PE |
|---|---|---|---|
| Primary Function | Thermoforming + PE sealing | Thermoforming + sealing + enhanced oxygen barrier | Thermoforming + sealing + enhanced gas/moisture barrier |

| Typical Use | Standard suppository, unit-dose and selected food packaging | Products requiring lower oxygen transmission | Products requiring increased pharmaceutical or food-package barrier performance |
Peelable PVC/PE structures are particularly useful for suppository packaging because the PE layer can be formulated to provide package integrity during filling, storage and distribution while allowing controlled opening by the user.
Peel force should be evaluated with the exact PVC/PE construction, sealing temperature, pressure, dwell time and production machine. Excessively low peel strength can compromise package integrity, while excessive peel strength can make opening difficult.
PVC/PE rollstock is mounted on the packaging machine and unwound according to the specified orientation.
The film is heated and formed into the required cavity geometry using the thermoforming system and mold.
The suppository, liquid, semi-liquid or other approved product is filled into the formed cavity under the required production conditions.
Products such as suppositories may require controlled cooling or solidification before final sealing and cutting.
The package is sealed under controlled conditions and then cut or separated into the required unit-dose format.

Evaluate sealing performance across a suitable range of temperatures, pressures and dwell times to establish a stable production window.
For peel-open packs, evaluate opening force and consistency after production, storage and aging under the intended conditions.
When moisture or oxygen transmission affects product stability, request or verify WVTR and OTR data for the exact laminate structure under relevant test conditions.
For pharmaceutical products, test the laminate with the actual formulation and filling process. Evaluate seal integrity, appearance, contact compatibility and storage stability according to the applicable qualification program.
Sample Packing: Sample sheets can be protected in suitable bags and cartons according to the current sample arrangement.
