HSQY Clear PET Trays
HSQY 200x130x25mm clear PET food tray is a rectangular disposable packaging tray designed for fresh produce, bakery products, deli foods, chilled snacks and retail food presentation. The transparent PET structure provides high product visibility while maintaining the rigidity required for handling, stacking and distribution.
The standard tray measures 200 × 130 × 25mm, approximately 7.87 × 5.12 × 0.98 inches. HSQY can also discuss alternative sizes, colors, compartment layouts and custom thermoformed food-tray designs for supermarkets, food processors, packaging distributors and private-label projects.
This product is primarily positioned as a clear PET display and food-packaging tray. If heat sealing, modified atmosphere packaging, high oxygen barrier or extended refrigerated shelf life is required, the tray structure and compatible lidding film should be selected and tested as a complete packaging system.
200x130x25mm Clear PET Food Tray
Clear PET Tray for Fresh Produce
Stackable PET Tray Design
A clear PET food tray is a thermoformed rigid package made primarily from polyethylene terephthalate. PET is widely selected for refrigerated and display-oriented food packaging because it combines transparency, stiffness, dimensional stability and relatively low weight.
The transparent tray allows shoppers to inspect the appearance, color and condition of the packed food without opening the package. This makes clear PET particularly useful for fruits, vegetables, bakery products, deli foods, snacks and other retail items where product visibility influences purchasing decisions.
PET food trays can be supplied as open trays, inserts, compartment trays or components of a lidded package. The final closure method may use overwrap, a separate lid or compatible heat-seal film depending on the tray design.

Clear PET allows customers to see the food directly through the package, making it useful for retail products where appearance, freshness and presentation influence purchasing decisions.
The thermoformed tray provides support for food products during filling, stacking, transport and retail display. Final rigidity depends on material thickness, tray geometry, rim design and stacking load.
Empty trays can be nested to reduce storage and shipping volume. Filled tray stacking should be tested according to product weight, tray depth, closure method and transportation conditions.
The current HSQY specification lists a reference range down to -40°C. For frozen applications, buyers should test impact resistance, cracking, stacking and seal integrity at the actual storage and distribution temperature.
Clear is the main product presentation, while black, white and customized colors can be discussed. One-, two-, four- and custom-compartment designs can also be developed for different food layouts.
Clear PET trays can display berries, grapes, tomatoes, mushrooms, cut fruit, vegetables and other fresh produce. Respiring produce may require perforated film, breathable wrap or another ventilation strategy rather than a fully high-barrier closure.
Cakes, cookies, pastries, chocolates and desserts benefit from clear presentation while the rigid tray helps protect the product shape during handling.
Clear trays can be evaluated for cold cuts, cheeses, appetizers, salads and other refrigerated deli products using the closure method appropriate to the required storage conditions.
Plain PET trays can be considered for selected chilled protein applications using overwrap or a compatible closure. If high oxygen barrier, MAP or extended shelf life is required, use a specifically engineered PET/PE or PET/EVOH/PE packaging system instead of assuming the plain PET tray provides the required barrier.
High transparency and a simple rectangular format make this tray suitable for supermarket shelves, deli counters, convenience stores and prepared-food displays.
| Tray Structure | Main Benefit | Heat-Seal Guidance | Typical Positioning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plain PET / APET | High clarity, rigidity and retail presentation | Requires direct-to-PET compatible film or suitable coating when heat sealing | Produce, bakery, deli, display trays and selected chilled foods |
| PET/PE | PET rigidity plus PE sealing surface | Commonly matched with a PE-compatible lidding film | Chilled food and heat-sealed food trays |
| PET/EVOH/PE | Added oxygen-barrier layer plus PE sealing surface | Requires compatible high-barrier lidding film and package validation | MAP and oxygen-sensitive chilled foods |
Heat sealing depends on the actual surface presented by the tray flange. A plain APET tray may require a direct-to-PET lidding film, PET-compatible coating or specially formulated universal sealant.
Do not assume that a standard PET/PE lidding film will automatically seal to an uncoated mono-PET tray. Before bulk production, test physical trays using the actual film, sealing machine, temperature, pressure and dwell time.
Buyers who need a guaranteed PE sealing surface should consider a PET/PE tray rather than relying on the material name PET alone.
The current HSQY product information lists a reference lower temperature of -40°C. For commercial frozen-food packaging, however, low-temperature performance should be validated using the actual tray thickness, food weight, freezing process, storage temperature and drop or impact conditions.
A tray that remains dimensionally stable while empty may behave differently when filled, stacked and handled at frozen temperatures. Samples should therefore be tested in the intended cold-chain process.

PET is generally identified with resin code #1 and is widely used in recyclable rigid packaging. However, a resin identification code does not guarantee that every finished food tray will be collected or recycled in every market.
Actual recyclability depends on local collection systems, tray color, labels, adhesives, food contamination, lidding materials and sorting technology. If design-for-recycling is a priority, evaluate the complete tray, lid or film and label system for the destination market.
The existing product page references SGS, ISO and FDA-related documentation. Food-contact requirements vary by market, food type, temperature and contact time, so buyers should request the current documentation that applies to the exact PET resin, pigment, tray specification and intended use.
Quality-management certification and food-contact compliance are different issues. A general ISO certificate should not be treated as proof that every tray specification meets every country's food-contact requirements.
PET trays are nested for efficient storage and transportation. The existing product information lists the following packing and loading figures as reference values. Final quantities depend on tray geometry, material thickness, nesting pitch and carton design.
| Packing Item | Reference Information |
