Product Description
HSQY PET/PE laminated film is a clear rigid or semi-rigid packaging material that combines a PET forming layer with a polyethylene heat-sealing layer. It is designed for thermoformed food trays, form-fill-seal packaging, meat, seafood, cheese and other applications requiring transparent presentation and a reliable PE-based sealing surface.
The current product range is available in total thicknesses of approximately 0.23–0.58mm. A reference structure uses a PET substrate laminated with an approximately 50µm PE layer. The material is supplied in clear roll form with customized dimensions and 3-inch or 6-inch core options.
The PET layer provides transparency, rigidity and thermoforming support, while the PE layer provides heat-sealing functionality, flexibility and moisture resistance. Peelable and weld-seal grades can be selected according to the compatible lidding film, packaging equipment and required opening performance.
Standard PET/PE should not automatically be treated as a high oxygen-barrier structure. Applications requiring a defined low oxygen transmission rate, modified-atmosphere shelf life or enhanced aroma protection may require PET/EVOH/PE or another tested barrier construction.

PET/PE laminated thermoforming film is a multilayer material that combines a PET-based structural layer with a PE-based sealing layer. It is also commonly described as APET/PE film, PET/PE bottom web, PET laminated PE sheet or PET/PE thermoforming rollstock.
During thermoforming, the film is heated and formed into trays or cavities. After filling, the package is normally sealed with a compatible top web or lidding film. The PET layer provides most of the stiffness and transparent product presentation, while the PE surface provides the sealing interface.
This product should be distinguished from thin flexible PET/PE pouch film or conventional lidding film. The current HSQY product is primarily positioned as a rigid or semi-rigid thermoforming material for tray and bottom-web applications.

Download the available PET material data sheet for preliminary evaluation. Buyers should confirm that the document applies to the exact PET grade, PE layer, total thickness and production specification being ordered.
The PET-based structural layer provides a clear and glossy appearance that allows consumers and retailers to view meat, fish, cheese and other packaged products through the formed tray or bottom web.
The rigid or semi-rigid PET structure can be heated and formed into trays and cavities. Forming performance depends on thickness, heating profile, mold design, draw depth, line speed and the selected laminate construction.
The PE layer creates a heat-sealable surface for use with a compatible PE-based lidding film or top web. Seal performance should be validated using the actual lidding film, temperature, pressure, dwell time and packaging equipment.
Peelable grades can be selected where controlled opening is required, while weld-seal grades are designed for applications requiring a stronger permanent seal. The complete package should be tested because seal behavior is affected by both the bottom and top web.
The polyethylene layer contributes moisture resistance and helps support package integrity for chilled food and products containing moisture or liquids when the package structure and seals are correctly designed.
Roll dimensions can be matched to thermoforming and form-fill-seal equipment. Buyers should provide required width, core diameter, maximum roll diameter, maximum roll weight and unwind direction when requesting a quotation.
| Seal Type | Performance | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|
| Peelable Grade | Designed for controlled opening with a defined peel force. | Cheese, sliced meat, deli foods and consumer-convenience packaging. |
| Weld-Seal Grade | Designed to create a stronger permanent seal. | Heavy packs, liquid-containing products and applications requiring stronger package integrity. |
Final peel force and weld strength depend on the lidding-film sealant, flange condition, temperature, pressure, dwell time, contamination level and product temperature. Samples should be tested on the actual packaging line before bulk production.
Standard PET/PE provides clear presentation, thermoforming support, a PE heat-sealing surface and useful moisture resistance. It should not automatically be specified as a high oxygen-barrier material.
Meat, seafood, cheese and other oxygen-sensitive products with demanding shelf-life targets may require a PET/EVOH/PE structure or another high-barrier laminate. The required material should be selected according to the packaged product, target shelf life, gas mixture, storage temperature and specified oxygen-transmission performance.
If your packaging project uses modified-atmosphere packaging, vacuum packaging or requires defined OTR or WVTR values, provide those performance targets when requesting material recommendations.
Discuss Barrier & Sealing Requirements
PET/PE thermoforming film can be used as a clear bottom web for meat, poultry and processed-meat packaging when the material structure, seal system and required shelf life are properly matched.
The transparent formed web provides product visibility, while the PE sealing layer provides compatibility with an appropriate top film for chilled fish and seafood packs.
Peelable or weld-seal structures can be considered for sliced cheese, cheese portions, sliced meats and other chilled deli products according to opening and shelf-life requirements.
PET/PE bottom web can be heated, formed, filled and sealed on compatible thermoform-fill-seal equipment. Roll geometry and material behavior should be matched to the specific machine and tooling.
PET/PE materials may be considered for selected pharmaceutical or medical packaging applications where the material specification, cleanliness, sealing system and required regulatory documentation are suitable. Buyers should confirm all application-specific requirements before production.
