PET/PE Plastic Food Packaging Trays
PET/PE plastic food packaging trays are made from laminated plastic consisting of a PET (polyethylene terephthalate) base and a PE (polyethylene) layer. This manufacturing process enhances the heat sealing properties of PET. PET offers high transparency, strength, and recyclability. The PE layer provides an effective heat seal, ensuring an airtight closure that extends the shelf life of fresh and processed foods, such as meat, fish, salads, ready meals and pastries.

PET/PE trays are crystal clear, allowing consumers to see the product clearly and making them more attractive.
The PE layer makes the tray suitable for heat sealing with a variety of films, creating an airtight and tamper-evident closure.
PET/PE trays can withstand temperatures ranging from –40°C to +60°C (–40°F to +140°F), making them suitable for fresh and frozen products.
They are approved for direct contact with food, making them ideal for fresh, chilled, or frozen products.
PET is recyclable, and certain trays are designed to be more easily recycled. we can use recycled materials to manufacture our plastic packaging, thereby preventing additional plastic waste.
• Fresh meat and poultry
• Seafood and fish fillets
• Fruit and vegetables
• Ready-to-eat meals and deli products
PET/PE is a co-extruded multi-layer plastic material consisting of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) laminated with a thin layer of PE (polyethylene).
PET offers strength, rigidity, clarity, and good gas barrier properties.
PE improves heat sealing properties, flexibility and chemical resistance.
This plastic material is widely used in food packaging trays, especially when a sealed lidding film or modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) is required.
Excellent heat sealing performance.
Good strength and rigidity.
Good clarity.
Food safe.
The choice depends on the application:
PET trays are durable, rigid, and recyclable, but they are more difficult to seal and are not well-suited for vacuum or modified atmosphere packaging.
PET/PE trays have better sealing performance and higher flexibility, making them more suitable for fresh food packaging.
Therefore, when strong sealing, product freshness preservation, or extended shelf life are required, PET/PE pallets are usually the better choice.
