Airline CPET trays are portioned containers made from crystallized PET for in-flight meal packaging. A qualified pack can support filling, sealing, chilled or frozen storage and reheating in the tray.
Start with usable fill volume and outside dimensions. Then validate the tray, seal, cart fit and heating cycle together.
Use nominal capacity to shortlist a tray. Check the outside dimensions and sealed stack height against your catering equipment.

Trial the film on the selected CPET flange with your sealing tool and recipe. Specify the opening behavior and reheating method when you request samples.
Use the actual meal, closure and catering equipment for the sample trial.
Fill to the target weight and check headspace for sauces, steam and the closure.
Trial the tray and film on your sealer. Check peel force and seal integrity after storage.
Measure the filled pack and stack in your case, trolley, rack and galley oven.
Run the actual meal, tray and film through the intended reheat program before sign-off.

Common questions about tray selection, lidding, reheating and bulk supply.
An airline CPET tray is a portioned meal container made from crystallized polyethylene terephthalate. Qualified tray designs can support chilled or frozen meal distribution and reheating in a validated conventional oven or microwave cycle.
The listed single-compartment models have nominal capacities of 10, 12, 14 and 15 oz, with white, black, blue and dual-color options. Compare outside dimensions and case counts by model. Use a filled sample to confirm usable volume and headspace.
Start with the maximum outside length, width and height, including the flange and lid. Check loaded stack height and clearances in the actual trolley, rack and oven. Send a drawing or current tray sample for comparison.
Selected HSQY models list an approximate tray temperature range of −40°C to +220°C. Confirm the qualified heating method, temperature and dwell time for the exact tray, filled meal and closure. Keep the pack clear of exposed heating elements and open flame.
Use a direct freezer-to-oven cycle only after the exact tray, fill, closure, starting temperature and oven profile have been validated together. Check tray shape, seal condition and meal heating after the trial.
Keep the film on only if the tray and film combination has been qualified for that heating cycle and the approved instructions specify it. Follow the specified removal or venting steps for the selected closure.
Match the film sealant to the CPET flange, then trial temperature, pressure and dwell time on your sealing tool. Check peel force and package integrity after chilling or freezing, handling and the approved reheat cycle.
HSQY can evaluate changes to footprint, depth, color, compartments, flange and packing for bulk projects. Share the menu layout, portion volumes, dimensions and annual demand so the proposed design and tooling can be assessed.
Ask for current documents covering the exact tray grade, color and lidding film for your destination market. Share the food type, contact duration, storage conditions and reheating profile so the documentation can be matched to the intended use.
Send the model or drawing, fill volume and weight, sealer and film, cart or oven clearances, reheating cycle, order volume and delivery destination. Confirm sample availability, case pack, MOQ and lead time for the selected configuration.
Send your requirements for a model recommendation, samples and bulk pricing.
