Product Description

Inkjet Printable CR80 Blank PVC Cards

HSQY inkjet printable blank PVC cards are finished-size white CR80 cards with an ink-receptive surface developed for compatible inkjet card-printing systems.

The standard card measures 85.5 × 54mm with a thickness of 0.76mm ± 0.02mm, approximately 30 mil. The coated surface helps compatible inkjet inks wet, absorb and dry more effectively than on ordinary untreated PVC.

These printer-ready cards are suitable for employee ID cards, membership cards, loyalty cards, student cards, visitor cards, promotional cards and other professional personalization programs.

Inkjet compatibility is not universal. Buyers should provide the printer brand and model, PVC card tray or feeding system, ink type and required printable sides before bulk purchasing.

What Is an Inkjet Printable PVC Card?

An inkjet printable PVC card is a pre-cut plastic card with a specially prepared surface designed to receive compatible liquid ink. This coating distinguishes it from an ordinary blank PVC card intended for other card-printing technologies.

The ink-receptive coating helps control ink wetting and spreading and can support photographs, logos, names, text, barcodes, QR codes and other personalized graphics when used with a suitable printer, card tray and ink system.

Because the card is already supplied in finished CR80 format, it can be printed directly using a compatible inkjet card-feeding system. It does not require the printing, lamination and card-cutting workflow used for A4 or A5 PVC card-making sheets.

Why Ink-Receptive Coating Matters

Ink Wetting and Absorption

The coating is designed to receive compatible ink and control droplet spreading more effectively than an untreated PVC surface.

Color Density

A suitable coating and ink combination can support strong color density for photographs, logos, text and other personalized graphics.

Fine Detail Reproduction

Compatible inkjet cards can be evaluated for photographs, small text, barcodes and QR codes where image definition is important.

Drying Performance

Drying time depends on the coating, ink chemistry, ink coverage, printer settings, temperature and humidity. Printed cards should dry fully before stacking or heavy handling.

Printer, Card Tray and Ink Compatibility

Inkjet CR80 printing depends on the complete printing system. A card that performs well with one printer, tray and ink combination should not automatically be assumed compatible with every inkjet printer.

Compatibility Factor Information to Confirm
Printer Brand Manufacturer of the intended inkjet printer
Printer Model Exact model used for production
Card Tray CR80 PVC card tray or other compatible feeding device
Card Thickness 0.76mm / approximately 30 mil and tray-supported thickness
Ink Type Dye-based, pigment-based or application-specific ink
Printable Sides Single-sided or double-sided inkjet coating
Printer Settings Resolution, ink volume, media selection and other relevant settings

Single-Sided vs Double-Sided Inkjet PVC Cards

Option Use Important Point
Single-Sided Coating Cards requiring inkjet graphics on one face The coated printing side must be identified before loading
Double-Sided Coating Cards requiring inkjet graphics on both surfaces Both surfaces should be tested for printing and drying performance

How to Print Inkjet CR80 PVC Cards

1. Confirm Printer Compatibility

Verify that the printer can work with a CR80 PVC card tray or another supported card-feeding system.

2. Confirm the Card Tray

Use a tray designed for the specific printer model and confirm that it supports the selected card thickness.

3. Identify the Printable Surface

For single-sided coated cards, confirm which surface has the ink-receptive coating before placing the card into the tray.

4. Handle the Card Carefully

Avoid touching the printable surface with bare fingers. Dust, skin oil and fingerprints can influence ink wetting and image quality.

5. Select Tested Printer Settings

Set the resolution, media option, ink volume and other parameters according to the actual printer, ink and card coating.

6. Print the Card

Print the required photographs, names, logos, barcodes, QR codes or other authorized personalization data.

7. Allow Complete Drying

Allow the printed surface to dry completely before stacking, heavy handling or printing the reverse side.

8. Inspect the Finished Card

Check color density, photograph quality, fine text, barcode readability, ink adhesion and overall surface condition before beginning a larger production run.

Visitor and Event Cards

Inkjet PVC cards can be personalized for visitor management, conferences, exhibitions and event credential programs.

Promotional and Gift Cards

Businesses can use compatible inkjet PVC cards for promotional, customer-reward and gift-card programs.

Functional Card Options

The standard product is an inkjet-printable blank PVC card. Projects requiring additional functional components should specify them separately.

Magnetic stripe, RFID, NFC, contact chip, signature panel and other card structures can be discussed according to technical feasibility and order requirements.

A blank printable PVC card is only the physical card substrate. Financial or payment-card programs require additional security features, encoding, certification and system requirements beyond the base PVC card.

Important Quality Checks

  • Dimensions: Check card length, width and corner consistency.

  • Thickness: Confirm card thickness and compatibility with the selected tray.

  • Flatness: Verify stable positioning and feeding during printing.

  • Surface Cleanliness: Keep the card free from dust, oil and fingerprints.

  • Coating Uniformity: Check the printable surface for consistent ink reception.

  • Ink Absorption: Evaluate beading, bleeding and uncontrolled spreading.

  • Drying: Confirm sufficient drying before handling or reverse-side printing.

  • Color Density: Evaluate photographs, logos and solid-color graphics.

  • Fine Detail: Check small text, QR codes and barcodes.

  • Ink Adhesion: Test handling resistance after the printed surface has completely dried.

Storage and Handling

Store inkjet printable PVC cards in a clean, dry indoor environment away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, high humidity and dust.

Keep cards in protective packaging until use. Handle printable surfaces with clean gloves whenever possible to reduce fingerprints and contamination.

If the cards have been stored at a substantially different temperature from the printing room, allow the sealed package to acclimate before opening and printing.
