Product Description

Clear Anti-Fog PET Sheet Roll for Thermoforming

HSQY Clear Anti-Fog PET Sheet Roll is a transparent rigid PET material developed for packaging and thermoforming applications where condensation can reduce product visibility. The anti-fog surface helps moisture spread across the sheet instead of forming many small droplets that scatter light and create a cloudy appearance.

Anti-fog PET is particularly suitable for chilled food packaging, fresh produce trays, salad containers, bakery packaging, refrigerated lids, clamshells, blister packaging and other clear packs exposed to changes in temperature or humidity.

The current detailed product information publishes thicknesses from approximately 0.1–3.0 mm, roll widths from approximately 80–1300 mm, multiple standard sheet sizes and customized dimensions. Transparent, tinted and opaque colors are also listed within the product family.

Anti-fog performance is application-specific. Buyers should confirm whether the treatment is required on one side or both sides and provide the storage temperature, humidity, condensation conditions, contact side, thermoforming process and expected service period before bulk production.

Transparent PET sheet roll

Transparent PET material can be supplied in roll or sheet formats according to the converting and packaging process.

How Anti-Fog PET Works

Fogging occurs when moisture condenses on a cooler PET surface as many small droplets. These droplets scatter light, making a transparent package appear cloudy and reducing visibility of the packaged product.

An anti-fog surface changes how condensed moisture behaves. Instead of remaining as many small light-scattering droplets, the moisture is encouraged to spread more evenly across the treated surface or form larger droplets that move away more easily.

The result is improved visibility when a package experiences condensation under the conditions for which the anti-fog treatment was designed.

One-Side vs. Double-Sided Anti-Fog PET

One-Side Anti-Fog PET

One-side anti-fog PET is suitable when condensation consistently forms on one known surface. For example, in some refrigerated food packages the anti-fog side should face the humid interior of the package.

The treated side should be clearly identified during converting so it is oriented toward the expected moisture source.

Double-Sided Anti-Fog PET

Double-sided treatment can be evaluated where condensation may occur on either surface or where the converting process makes single-side orientation impractical.

Confirm whether both sides must also support printing, sealing, gluing or other downstream processes because additional surface treatment can affect adhesion and converting behavior.

Key Features of Anti-Fog PET Sheet

Improved Visibility Under Condensation

The primary purpose of anti-fog treatment is to help maintain a clearer viewing surface when condensation would otherwise form visible droplets.

High Transparency

Clear PET provides good product visibility for fresh produce, salads, bakery products, chilled foods and other products where visual presentation is important.

Thermoforming Capability

Suitable anti-fog PET grades can be vacuum formed or thermoformed into trays, lids, clamshells and other packaging components. Forming conditions should be optimized so the anti-fog treatment remains functional after stretching.

Rigid PET Structure

The PET substrate provides practical rigidity and dimensional stability for thermoforming, cutting, printing and packaging conversion.

Roll and Sheet Formats

Anti-fog PET can be supplied as rollstock for thermoforming and converting lines or as cut sheets for printing, fabrication and sheet-fed applications.

Custom Surface Options

Glossy, matte or frosted surfaces can be discussed according to the required appearance. Buyers should confirm how the selected finish affects visibility, anti-fog behavior and downstream processing.

Applications of Anti-Fog PET Sheet

Fresh Produce Packaging

Anti-fog PET can be used for suitable fruit and vegetable trays, clamshells and lids where moisture released by fresh produce can create condensation inside the package.

Salad Containers and Lids

Clear anti-fog PET helps maintain visibility of refrigerated salads and fresh prepared products when temperature differences cause moisture to condense on the lid or container wall.

Chilled Meat and Food Packaging

Selected anti-fog PET grades can be evaluated for chilled meat, deli products and other refrigerated food packaging when the exact PET grade, package structure and food-contact requirements have been confirmed.

Bakery and Dessert Packaging

Anti-fog material can be useful for bakery clamshells, chilled desserts and transparent lids where product visibility is part of the retail presentation.

Thermoformed Trays and Lids

Formable anti-fog PET can be converted into transparent trays and lids for packaging systems exposed to refrigerated or humid conditions.

Blister and Transparent Packaging

PET can also be used for blister, folding-box and clear display applications. Anti-fog treatment is useful only where condensation is a realistic operating condition, so the functional requirement should be defined before ordering.

Anti-Fog PET Application Images

Clear PET packaging application

Clear PET packaging provides product visibility for retail, chilled-food and transparent packaging applications.

Printed and converted PET sheet application

PET sheet can be printed, cut, folded or thermoformed according to the selected surface treatment and production process.

Anti-Fog PET vs. Standard PET vs. Anti-Scratch PET

Feature Standard PET Anti-Fog PET Anti-Scratch PET
Primary Purpose General transparent rigid packaging Helps reduce visible condensation fogging Helps resist surface scratches and scuffs
Typical Application Packaging, thermoforming, printing Chilled food packaging, produce, salads, lids and refrigerated packs Displays, protective windows and premium packaging
Important Validation Gauge, clarity and forming performance Temperature, humidity, condensation cycle, treatment side and duration Scratch or abrasion test and surface hardness
Thermoforming Suitable with the correct grade Requires validation that anti-fog performance remains after forming Requires validation that coating remains intact after forming

Anti-Fog PET for Thermoforming

Thermoforming stretches the PET sheet and any surface treatment across the mold. An anti-fog treatment that performs well on flat sheet should therefore be tested again after forming, especially in deep corners and high-draw areas.

For thermoformed packaging, provide the PET thickness, roll width, mold drawing, cavity depth, draw ratio, heater configuration, line speed and required anti-fog side. Testing with the actual mold is recommended before bulk production.

Anti-Fog PET for Printing and Folding

Printing, gluing or coating performance can be affected by the anti-fog treatment. For printed applications, identify whether the treated surface or untreated surface will receive ink and confirm adhesion with the actual printing system.

For folding boxes and creased PET components, test fold quality, whitening, cracking, coating integrity and anti-fog performance after converting.

How to Validate Anti-Fog PET Before Bulk Ordering

Confirm the Treated Side

Verify which surface carries the anti-fog treatment before printing, thermoforming or converting. Incorrect orientation can significantly reduce performance in the finished package.

Run a Condensation Test

Test the material under temperature and humidity conditions that reflect the actual storage, transportation and retail environment. Define the test duration and acceptable visibility before approval.

Run a Thermoforming Trial

Form the PET using the actual machine and mold, then repeat the anti-fog evaluation on the finished component. Check high-draw areas where the treatment has been stretched most heavily.

Test Printing and Adhesion

For printed applications, test ink adhesion, curing and rub resistance on the actual treated or untreated surface selected for printing.

Evaluate Cleaning or Washing

If the finished part will be washed, wiped or exposed to cleaning chemicals, repeat the anti-fog test after the expected cleaning cycle because treatment durability can vary by grade.

Validate the Finished Package

Evaluate the actual packaged product under intended storage, transport and display conditions before approving the PET grade for commercial production.
